✅ OPEN DAY IS GOING AHEAD TOMORROW! (20th June)⛵

We're pleased to confirm that the weather forecast is looking good, and our Open Day will be going ahead as planned tomorrow from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to Southampton Sailing Club and giving you a chance to see what we're all about.

If you're planning to get out on the water, please remember:
🦺 We provide life jackets.
👕 Bring suitable clothing that you're happy to get wet in.
👟 Sensible footwear is recommended.

🍔 We'll also have a barbecue available throughout the day.

When you arrive, please report to the entrance first. The commodore will be on the door to welcome you and get you signed in before you head into the club.

See you tomorrow from 12!

⛵ OPEN DAY REMINDER - LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO! ⛵

Our Southampton Sailing Club Open Day is now less than a week away, taking place on Saturday 20th June from 12:00 to 16:00.

The good news is that the current weather forecast remains well within our operating limits, so we're still good to go and looking forward to welcoming everyone down to the club!

Whether you're interested in learning to sail, finding out more about club membership, taking a tour of the facilities, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, we'd love to see you there.

What to expect:
✅ Free taster sails (weather permitting)
✅ Clubhouse and grounds tours
✅ Meet existing members
✅ BBQ and refreshments
✅ Information on sailing and social membership options

Booking is recommended, but not essential.

A slightly late post from our recent Recreational Sailing session last week... but with the weather we had, we were too busy making the most of it! ☀️⛵

It was a very hot evening for sailing, and great to see members out on the water enjoying the sunshine, building confidence, brushing off the cobwebs, and simply having a relaxed sail in good company.

Our Recreational Sailing sessions are all about getting our members afloat in a welcoming and supportive environment, with opportunities for a range of experience levels.

Another great day on the water for Race 2 of Southampton Sailing Club’s Summer Series! ⛵☀️

With some fantastic sailing, close competition, and plenty of action out on local waters, it was brilliant to see another good turnout for the series.

A huge thank you to the members who took part, helped run the race, and supported from shore.

Whether you're an experienced racer or looking to build confidence and get more involved, our racing programme is open to all members and aims to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible.

Our first race of the season took place this weekend, and it was fantastic to see boats back out racing together once again! ⛵

This year, we’ve brought racing back to local waters around Southampton Sailing Club, which meant some brilliant views from the clubhouse. With the finish line near the club, we were even able to check boats across the line directly from the conservatory.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, helped organise the race, and supported from shore.

Whether you're confident or just starting out, there’s a spot for you.
If you don’t yet hold formal qualifications, we will endeavor to pair you with someone who does.

It’s members-only, so if you aren’t yet a member, now’s the time. Membership is available.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Start of Season Social!
We had a great evening with fish & chips, and some fun at the crab drive 🦀

It was fantastic to see the clubhouse busy again and members catching up ahead of the sailing season ⛵

We’ve got plenty more socials planned throughout the year, including summer barbecues, skittles nights, sailing events, and more 🎳☀️

⛵️ Southampton Sailing Club – 2026 Events Are Live! ⛵️

We’re excited to share our full 2026 events calendar, packed with sailing, socials, and club activities for members to enjoy.

Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up this year:

🌊 Daysails
Planned destinations throughout the season, with tides in mind. Highlights include our joint dinghy and cruiser rally to Island Harbour (11–12 July), plus trips to places like Calshot and Eling.

⛵ Rec Sails
Eight relaxed evening sessions from May to August. A great way to get out on the water midweek and build confidence.

🚤 Cruiser Rallies
Four rallies planned to Yarmouth, Island Harbour, Bembridge, and Bucklers Hard.

🏁 Racing
Summer and Autumn race series are now scheduled, with a mix of weekday and weekend races to suit everyone.

🎉 Social Events
We’ve got 8 socials lined up, including:
• Start of season Crab Drive & Fish and Chips
• Two summer BBQs
• Skittles night in September
• Christmas quiz & buffet
