After 12 years leading our nordic walking group, today was our final walk. The lockdown gave us an opportunity to reflect on how and where we work and we decided we needed more time for us and family commitments. However looking forward to getting back to teaching pilates in person in September 😄

✴️Breathing whilst suffering with Covid

✴️Breathing whilst recovering from Covid

✴️Breathing in a mask

✴️Breathing patterns altering for those suffering greater anxiety due to the Pandemic

✴️Breathing with less road pollution

✴️Breathing with no school run or commute

❗️This virus has so many breathing ramifications

❗️I’m noticing the roads becoming busier, local car parks are filling up again

✅During the first weeks of lockdown transport levels were so much lower, I’m sure we all saw stories of more wildlife, cleaner air, some people with mild breathing difficulties reported being able to breathe more easily

✴️Will we see any behaviour change as a result of noticing the benefits of less pollution during this pandemic?

Morning Pure Raw Energy Smoothie..

Amazing week. I have juiced before with always the focus on weight loss but my husband Dave joined me this time and did not need to lose any weight. Our focus was on resetting our eating after too much Covid and sunshine extras!! I have lost 7lb and Dave has lost the mini roll around his middle. However, his blood pressure has reduced and we have both slept like babies. My skin (I suffer with mild psoraris) has improved and we have had so much energy. Dave did have to add in some nuts, peanut butter etc as he would have faded away!! We are delighted with the results and our avocodo and poached egg on grainy sourdough tasted divine this lunchtime. I savoured every mouthful and really tried to remind myself to slow down and really chew every mouthful. Looking forward to a beetroot juice this afternoon and a Tuna Salad this evening. We can now plan a trip to Juicy Oasis now that we know Dave will survive with a few extras packed in his case!! Thanks Vale Juice Master

Your activity level is key. A person with moderate activity at 70 years old can actually have the same balance as a 20 year-old who is only doing light activity. By improving your balance, you can feel and move like a younger person.

This effect holds true even for those people who have been sedentary and then become more active. We have shown this phenomena in balance testing: sedentary young people score significantly lower than active 80 year-olds who spend more time on physical activities.
