Located in the centre of Hedge End, Wildern Leisure Centre was originally opened in September 1979 and has been helping the local community get active ever since.

Please be advised that all main pool lane swimming sessions scheduled for this evening, 07/09/26, are unfortunately cancelled.

A heating fault occurred overnight, and our engineering team has been working throughout the day to resolve it. They have now successfully fixed the issue; however, the water temperature will not recover in time for this evening's sessions to run safely and comfortably.

We sincerely apologise for this short notice and for the disruption to your evening routine.

Our Main Swimming Pool will be temporarily closed from Monday 3rd August, with a provisional reopening currently scheduled for Monday 24th August; however, we will provide regular updates on progress.

This essential closure is required to undertake major maintenance and facility upgrades, including:

• Repairing a substantial leak and complete re-grouting of the pool basin.

• Shower refurbishments in the changing village.

• Installation of a new heat retention blanket to improve energy efficiency.

• A comprehensive deep clean across the entire wet area.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and thank you for your patience as we make these vital improvements to your leisure centre.
