Struggling to know what to have for dinner? Run out of time in the day to eat a healthy, homecooked meal? Need dinner on a budget? We are a CIC based in Southampton using surplus food to create homecooked meals, delivered to your door! We offer a varied menu whilst catering to allergies and dietary requirements such as vegan, low carb and gluten free. Starting up during the 2020 COVID lockdowns as

a way to reach the community and help tackle food poverty and isolation during that time, Easy Tz Meals expanded to start trading officially in July 2020 and has become an official Community Interest Company as of 5th January 2022. Becoming a CIC means that profits made will go back into the team and community! We offer training to our volunteers, we donate meals and we are lucky enough to have gained our first apprentice, who will recieve her first qualifications thanks to your orders and donations. As we turned 6 at the end of July, I thought it was finally time to go through the spreadsheets and calculate our impact!

Including
👩🏻‍🍳43,470 meals made
♻️22.8 Tonnes of food distributed
🏠 Around 6,887 households fed

Big up to our people, Board in the City CIC for letting us rent their space, Southampton Social Aid Group for their donated goods, The Big Difference for their social supermarket, and Pilates with Ayla for keeping me fit!

This doesn't even take into account the hours worked from our brilliant team, the monthly events we've had that support us through quiet times, the tester meals we've made, and the coffees bought on our deliveries!

And big up The Big Difference for their donation of Pheasant! I'm so excited to utilise this wizard chicken over the next few weeks for our meals 😁

You guys blew me away this week with this week's orders 😍

We usually find a dip in meal orders when there is a week off but you didn't disappoint 💚

Meals this week included
🐔 Katsu chicken curry
🥓 Breakfast hash with tomato chutney roasted onions, beans, mushrooms and eggs
🥗 Fusion salad - Chickpea salad with tzatziki inspired greek soy, yogurt, onions, cucumbers, olives, tomatoes and vegan ‘cheeze’ with pasta
🍑Hickory chilli tofu served with a traybake of peaches, peppers and courgettes, with rice

And something sweet
🍐 Pear and raisin cake!

Happy bank holiday Monday 💚

In an attempt to do some "work from home" it seemed my laptop didn't want to be cooperative, so it looks like I've gone to the big screen to type up this week's menu 📺

Almost done with this week's type up, alongside thinking of what I'll be doing for this week's event! No resting up this Monday 👩🏻‍🍳

Are you prepared for Autumn? I'm looking forward to the stew season and getting cosy with some warm desserts! I'll be bringing in September with one last salad to remember the summer by 🥗

Time for tea? 🫖🍰🥪

We had a wonderful time preparing this mega afternoon tea for a fabulous 90th birthday party!

I got to meet with the birthday lady to liaise with her on what would be on her menu, and boy what a feast! She went with

🥪A variety of classic sandwiches
🥚Savoury items such homemade mini quiches, freshly baked sausage rolls, and retro vol au vents
🍓Handmade scones made by our fair Rosie, with all the trimmings!
🍰 A selection of sweet treats, including homemade toffee piece brownies, brulée tarts and more
🍏 A refreshing apple mint mocktail to toast the birthday lady with, with squash for another soft drink option
☕ Your classic tea, coffee, milks and sugars
👩🏻‍🍳And don't forget those with dietary requirements! Including preparing a gluten-free alternative for some of the guests!

We were so honoured to be a part of this celebration and to be able to provide the catering and staff for this, we can't wait to see what the future holds, and you know where we are if you need us for small to medium functions 👩🏻‍🍳💚
