Work hard, play hard!

It’s easy to think that by living a healthy lifestyle, you can never enjoy yourself. I used to sit and eat my favourite foods, but not being able to enjoy them due to the addiction of binge eating.

Now?

I find exercise I enjoy. I enjoy to box and to lift weights. Don’t get me doing Pilates or football, because I’ll automatically show little interest.

Food? I still enjoy my favourite foods, but in moderation. I’m seeing friends tonight at and will enjoy pizza with a side of three Guinness’s!

When we have a plan, we get the best of both worlds: we get full enjoyment of our favourite foods and have the energy to enjoy life. I’m about to turn 35, and am in the peak of my life.

Tomorrow, I start my autumn cut. Initially an 8-week cut (with the brief break for my birthday weekend)

But Dan, you don’t need to lose weight.

I mentioned in a post that since my boxing match, I have put weight on. There’s no shame, it happens. We relaxed over the summer, and my training camp was intense, so therefore the intensity went down. But now, there’s an uncomfortable feeling and some of my newer clothes are a bit too tight.

I will post workouts and food in the stories, as well as of my journey. Part of it is for me, but it may inspire people who want to begin a fitness or weight loss journey.

Let me be honest…

When we look at a fitness enthusiast’s social media posts, we assume they never put on weight, are always strict and perfect with their health…

Wrong!

This summer, since my boxing match, I have put some weight on, and it’s not muscle,

It does happen and I am aware, I have been less mobile even whilst exercising, but eating the same. The past two weeks of time off work and being on holiday, I’ve eaten more and drink a bit more.

IT HAPPENS! And I don’t feel guilty. But I have a plan.

It may look like I’ve put on no weight, but it’s more obvious under the shirt, and I do feel a bit uncomfortable.

So from Monday, I will clean up my diet (but still having a few treats in the week, like I always do) drop the few lbs I’ve put on (I don’t need to go crazy) and keep a good routine. It’s not like everything went out the window.

You can still be healthy and eat out.

This morning, my wife and I had a meeting about a fitness and well-being festival coming to Southampton. After a successful meeting, we went for lunch.

Being on holiday last week, I want to be conscious of what I eat, as it is easy to get lazy after a week of beers and eating out. So we went to a vegan restaurant recommended to me by a friend.

Wow! The food was amazing. Im not a big fan of salad, but this was so good! Im planning when I can next go back to eat.

For anyone in Southampton, give this place a go and tell them Dessy sent ya!!

This is what a lot of my work looks like…

Creating fitness and nutrition plans for individuals. No one is put through a system, but it is made to their them. After all, everyone has different lives, likes and dislikes, but also amounts of time due to work, children, education etc.

One way doesn’t fit all. So time is spent preparing for each client.

This was DELICIOUS!!

It can feed two (I eat a portion for two due to high physical activity) use one cup of oats, one cup of almond milk unsweetened (Or another milk you use) Mix it with peanut butter and honey. Put it in the fridge overnight, then before you eat, add raspberries and blueberries.

Macros for one serving:

Carbs: 51g
Fat: 12g
Protein: 10g

🔥Dieting doesn’t mean hunger!🔥

I eat a lot, yet I’m a healthy weight. Part of it is because I’m active, but the majority of it is my good choices.

Fruit is my saving grace.

When I feel snacky, I tend to eat a bunch of strawberries or grapes.

Everyday, I eat yoghurt with blueberries and raspberries.

When I don’t have my fruit or veg in a day, my body feels it. They provide good vitamins, healthy energy without the crash and taste good. Plus, they are low calorie.

People talk about doing things for free. They don't want to pay for something they can do at home on their own for free.

But money can talk. And not in a get rich greedy way.

If your boss could pay you either £20k per year, or £30k a year and choose the latter, it shows they value you.

If you spend some money on your health, it shows your health is important.
