Join us to explore this fascinating Afro-Brazilian martial art performed in music.

Connecting people through the power of movement and music Capoeira is a fascinating Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of movement, dance, martial arts and music. In our sessions, we practise all these aspects ,developing strength, flexibility, flow, exploring your creativity and learning to play games. Sessions are tailored for beginners but suitable for any age and level. Come and explore capoeira with us for a feel good workout.

My capoeira journey

I discovered Capoeira in 2016 and I haven’t stopped since. I have been very lucky to meet truly inspiring Capoeira Masters, teachers and capoeristas since I started; each and every one of them helping me develop as a capoeirista. What I find the most interesting is that it combines many elements, making it a very rich activity with so much to learn. With its origins in enslaved Brazil, there is a very strong cultural aspect about Capoeira including, history oral traditions and rituals. Capoeira training is both physical and mental combining elements of dance, martial arts and music. My training sessions will work our flexibility, strength & movement flow as well as creativity and musicality. I train with Treinel Lobinho (Angoleiros do Mar Oxford) so during my sessions I mostly focus on Capoeira Angola. All capoeiristas are welcome, any age or ability to train, share and grow.
