Do you have a reactive dog? Are walks something you dread?

Reactive dog owners need help from other dog owners. Dog on A Lead Day was created for many reasons and at the forefront of our mind was to help raise awareness that popping your dog on a lead for a few minutes could change the world to a reactive dog and their owner, not to mention help them with any training and rehabilitation they may have invested in to help their dog.

If you do nothing else - follow this tiny bit of advice and respect other dogs and their needs. After all we all love dogs and want what's best for them.❤️

⛑️ Yesterday I completed my Level 3 Award in Canine Emergency First Aid with Canine First Aid Workshops - UK - Rachel Bean RVN. It was fantastic to refresh my Canine First Aid Skills, to learn from Rachel’s extensive experience, stories and demonstrations and to have plenty of opportunity to practise CPR with Casper the dog, and bandaging and pulse rates with real and soft toy volunteers! This course is regulated by OFQUAL, so once my workbook and practical observations have been signed off, I’ll get another certificate from IPET Network to add to my collection too! Thanks to Carnie Walks for hosting and letting me join in - it was great! ⛑️

💛 Today is day - a day to raise awareness of and celebrate our special friends who, for a variety of reasons, need a bit of space to feel comfortable.

It can be very overwhelming having dogs run up to you, being in busy areas, having people walk directly towards you or getting too close and trying to touch you, so if you see a dog on a lead or wearing yellow you will make their day if you give them a bit more space, keep your dog away and allow them to feel safe to continue their walk or run 💛

Canicross Coach has built up a network of coaching professionals to help you and your dog enjoy the sport of Canicross together.

👩‍🏫Our Canicross Coaches have taken the time and personal development to achieve the only Canicross qualification in the UK.

🤓This means they have to complete 6 modules of work, covering a range of core topics to allow them to have the most effective tools and skills to coach canicross to runners and their dogs.

🧐Once they have completed their training with Canicross Coach through the IPET network, they are then scrutinised by OFQUAL in order to gain their qualification.

🐾 Just a reminder that I have two different Cani Adventure Dogs 8 weeks to 5km training plans for sale if you want to add some structure and focus to your canicross training! 🐾

£10 each plus £1.60 postage or I will deliver locally for free 🤗

🐾 Introducing our new professionally printed Cani Adventure Dogs 8 weeks to 5km training plans! 🐾

Both plans take you from 0 to 5km with the option of 2 or 3 runs per week. The yellow plan is designed for beginners looking to target a novice/short course (3km) race or race pace run and the orange plan is for those wishing to develop the skills to complete a long course (5km) race or run.

Training plans can be 'bolted on' to 1:1 sessions and packages or purchased separately. Please message Lucy for further details.

***As always, please ensure you have checked with your vet that it is okay for you to start running with your dog before starting a training plan. Make sure you and your dog get fitted for correctly fitting Canicross specific kit and always check the temperature and humidity before going for a run with your dog.***
