A well deserved victory for South Shields who took the lead and never surrendered it. A hard fought game with the referee only having to show a yellow card for stamping (Blyth) was the only low point of the match. A strongly contested match between top and 3rd in the league. Felix and Tucker were playing their final game before they head off to sea. The chairman presented them with mementos of their recent time with South Shields - bon voyage until you return. The game was played in good spirits by both teams apart from that one incident. Both teams acquitted themselves well. South Shields can take a well earnt victory into their next match. Well done to everyone concerned in a superb season so far.

Another good day for SSRFC but not before a shaky start. Chester-Le-Street ran in 2 easy tries in the first 20 minutes of the game. SSRFC then rallied and started to dominate the game play. The match was played in good spirits by both teams.

A valiant effort by Whitley Bay but were no match for SSRFC Mariners who scored 11 tries and 10 conversions to be outright winners. The game was played in a very good spirit by both teams with only one incident to mar a good match - no cards shown. The Mariners can take this great win forward into their next match.

A local derby game played on a very blustery cold afternoon. South Shields took the advantage of playing the first half with the wind to the backs and took an early lead. South shields lead at half time. The wind was a decisive factor as some kicks went awry and even backwards. Wallsend scored a try and conversion but South Shields stepped up their game to get a fourth try and the bonus point. Wallsend didn't let their heads drop even after one of their players got send off with the only card of the game shown. They rallied to get a second try and conversion to bring the score to 28 -14. South Shields battled to the end and kept Wallsend from crossing their line again. A huge thank you to all the supporters who braved the weather. A better game this week from South Shields and go on to the next game.

Back on their old ground at South Tyneside College Shields got off to a slow start and allowed Seghill to get a tight grip on the game. South Shields then rallied and fought back valiantly to go ahead. With about 5 minutes to go Seghill once again proved to be a handful but Shields contained them to the end resulting in another win. Only one yellow card was shown throughout the game. Shields will take the win but know they have to do better.

A match played in good spirits and a blustery wind. Houghton took the game to SSRFC Mariners from the kick off and quickly gained an impressive lead. After the break Mariners gained their only try and conversion. Houghton were deserved winners on the day. The Mariners will no doubt take away a few things to work on bearing in mind they had 9 players missing today. Well done Mariners for not letting your heads go down. Onwards to the next match.

Another great day for South Shields following on from their victory last week. Another great performance held on a windy day at Jarrow. Some great individual performances as well as a team effort. Well done to Shields on a very comprehensive result. Let's keep this momentum going to the next match and for the rest of the season.

A magnificent day that started with a presentation of a cheque for £300.00 for Ellie's Foundation. Well done to all involved in raising the £300.

The match itself was played in good spirits on both sides with only the one yellow card shown late on in the match for SSRFC. South Shields were in a ruthless frame of mind from the start and amassed a considerable lead in the first half which Seaham were unable to come back from as the score is testament. Well done South Shields great game - lets keep it going for the rest of the season.
