South Shields Sailing Club A friendly, competitive sailing club at the mouth of the River Tyne Based on the mouth of the river Tyne adjacent to the Groyne at Littlehaven Beach.

Shields Sailing Club offers a variety of sailing conditions in the Tyne Harbour or outside in the scenic surroundings off Marsden Bay. The club has been in existence for 50 years and sails every Sunday from March to December and every Wednesday during the Summer. Members enjoy excellent facilities with a large bar/function room, training classroom,secure storage compounds, changing facilities and

boat repair area. In recent years the club has successfully hosted the Phantom nationals and a Laser National and European qualification event. As part of final fundraising effort to send our explorer scouts from 3rd South Shields Sea Scout group on the tall ships race 2025 on board James cook, we are running a silent auction for this remarkable oil painting. Painted by Ronald Henderson, an extremely talented local artist whose grandson will be participating in the race with us, it is a beautiful piece of work and comes framed ready to hang up. This photo does not do it justice!

12 of our explorers this summer are taking part in the tall ships race, and we would really love your support with some fundraising!
Saturday 22nd March: Bingo Family Fun Night. We will have games/toys out in the classroom for any of younger ones who don't wish to play! We have some truly amazing prizes on offer, and will be running a raffle on the evening too, which again has some fantastic prizes we have kindly been donated. There will be a bake sale with some lovely handmade products and the bar of course will be open.
Cost: £5 for adults including 1 bingo book (additional can be purchased for £2.50 on the evening). Under 16 £1
Time: 6pm, Eyes down for first game 6.30pm
Tickets: Kerry will be selling at beavers on Mondays, Karen and Ben at cubs on Tuesdays, Niall at scouts on Fridays. Alternatively see one of the explorers or email [email protected] to reserve your tickets.
Can't attend? Please consider buying raffle tickets, available at the same times, and the draw will be made on the evening.

Please note: That whilst the bar can accept card payments, payments for anything else for the fundraising must be made in cash.
There is a capacity limit on the room so don't miss out!!
