Well that's a wrap. Our amazing blue team finished top of League 3 South and on Saturday played Belsay the winners of League 3 North. After an epic battle the match ended in a draw, sadly Belsay ran a few more hoop than us so were declared the victors. We are so proud of our team, well done guys.
It's not too late to give croquet a try and we will continue to play through the winter, we're a hardy bunch! Just come along Monday, Wednesday or Friday, 1pm Coulthard Park

A very wet day of croquet for the red team playing Tyneside Hawthorns in Exhibition Park yesterday. Despite the weather they achieved a resounding victory. All league games now finished with both the blue and red team finishing in 1st and 2nd place in League Division 3 South. Excellent result.

Saturday, 22nd August, our Red team hosted the Middlesbrough Endeavour team in Coulthard Park, as part of the Croquet North League Division 3 matches. A great day of competition in some cooler weather, enjoyed by all. And the lawn beginning to turn green again!
At the end of the day our Red team won, 13 games to 5.

Croquet North League 3, South.
We were very pleased to welcome the Middlesbrough End croquet team to our lawn today, 2nd July 2026. We played our third CN League 3 match of this season, and all eighteen croquet games were closely fought, but the match ended up a win for Bede of Jarrow u3a Croquet Group Blue team, 14 games to 4.
It was great to make new friends and thank you to Middlesbrough for making it such an enjoyable day.

As well as playing the game, there are always jobs for us to do around the club, but had to call in the experts for this one. The very aptly named Special Branch did a brilliant job.
If you'd like to get involved with a bit of grass cutting and hedge trimming as well as a game of croquet, come along and see us, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1pm, extra hands always needed!

Lovely new boiler fitted in the club house, the cup of tea is almost as important as the croquet. If you'd like to join us we are in Coulthard Park every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1pm.
