The Clarets finally got their 2026/27 league campaign underway today as they welcomed Sunderland West End Blacks to the 4G at the Wolf Competitions Stadium at South Shields FC.

They produced an outstanding performance and ran out worthy winners. Some of the football they played today was fantastic and they scored some amazing team goals. A great start to the season and one that puts down a marker for the rest of the season.

💪🏻Bodhi was captain today after impressing in training and our last friendly. He has stepped up to cover in goal, after an injury to our usual keeper Callum (get well soon), and he has been excellent. Today he was a leader and set the tone for how we went about our business. He made some good saves and was calm and assured with the ball at his feet. A real captains performance from a great player. Well done!

🏆Eli scooped Player of the Match today. He was positive in all that he did and grabbed a goal on his Clarets debut. He put in a great performance that was full of energy and creativity, plus he worked hard and was hardworking and busy all game long. He caused the opposition problems and worked tirelessly to help his teammates. Enjoy you Haribo UK & Ireland sweets!

Thursday Friendly

We took on an established Div2 team in our last game of preseason before our 2026/27 campaign begins.

A hugely encouraging performance saw us edge a close game between two well matched sides who both played the game the right way.

💪🏻Harry was captain after scooping Player of the Match (POTM) in our last game and he took that form into tonights game. He was a rock at the back and didn’t lose a duel all night. He was aggressive and positive in all that he did and set the tone for his teammates. A top performance from a top player!

🏆POTM tonight went to Bodhi. He’s stepped up to pick up the gloves after an injury to Callum and was outstanding tonight. He made some great saves and showed calmness and composure all game. He was good with the ball at his feet and his distribution was excellent - often the starting point for many of our best attacking moves. Keep up the good work!

Thank you to all parents and carers for your fantastic and unwavering support. It’s always appreciated and the players enjoy rewarding you with a positive performance and result.

Helping little minds understand BIG feelings. 💙

Our Art & Mindfulness 4 Kids workshops are designed to help children explore, understand and manage their emotions through creativity, mindfulness and fun!

Sometimes children don’t have the words to explain how they’re feeling — and that’s okay. 🎨

Through creative activities, we give children different ways to express what’s happening inside while helping them build their own emotional wellbeing toolkit.

Each week we’ll explore things like:

🌈 Recognising and understanding emotions
🎨 Expressing feelings creatively
🧠 Understanding how emotions can feel in our minds and bodies
🌿 Mindfulness and calming techniques
💙 Healthy ways to manage BIG feelings
✨ Confidence and self-esteem
🫶 Emotional regulation strategies they can use at home and beyond

There’s no pressure to talk, no expectation to create something “perfect” and no right or wrong way to take part.

Just a safe, relaxed and supportive space to create, learn and understand ourselves a little better. 🌙💙

This World Mental Health Day, we have teamed up with The Red Bench Project and we’re bringing our community together through creativity, connection and wellbeing — and we’d LOVE you to be part of it! 💛

On Saturday 10th October 2026, A World of Wellbeing Art Show will take place at Ignition, Stanhope Street, South Shields.

🖌️ And your artwork could be part of the exhibition!

You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need any experience. There’s no right or wrong way to take part.

Paint. Draw. Collage. Photograph. Write. Sculpt. Doodle. Create something completely different.

We simply want you to explore:

✨ What does mental health and wellbeing mean to YOU?

There are two ways to get involved — you can book onto one of our creative workshops and make something with us, or you can create your own piece of artwork and submit it to be displayed at the show.

💛 Individuals, community groups, organisations, schools and services are all welcome to get involved.
