This wasn’t just about winning games — this was about a team playing for each other, fighting for each other, and delivering when it mattered most.

Defensively? Rock solid. Not a single goal conceded all tournament… which tells you everything about the desire, concentration and teamwork across the pitch. From the keeper pulling off big saves, to last-ditch tackles, blocks, headers — proper graft when it counted 💪

Going forward? Clinical. Goals spread across the squad, assists coming from everywhere — no passengers, just contributions all over the pitch.

But the real story… the team.

Tournament football isn’t about who starts the most or plays the most minutes. It’s about being ready in the big moments, staying switched on, and backing your teammates no matter what.

And this group? They get it.

They support each other.
They trust each other.
They celebrate everything together.

Every goal, every tackle, every penalty… as one unit.

That penalty shootout in the final summed it up perfectly — pressure, composure, and a team that refused to be beaten.

Huge credit to Mansfield Town LFC who were not only a fantastic footballing team but have some of the nicest coaches, players and parents you will ever find! 👏

Match Report: Boldon v South Shields

Final league game of the season… and although we knew it would be a tough one to end we competed so well tonight!

After a really well-taken goal from South Shields’ number 12, it turned into a frustrating evening for us. We had plenty of the ball, competed well all over the pitch, but just couldn’t get the breaks in the right areas when it mattered.

There were some really good spells of football, and anyone watching would probably say we deserved something from the game. But credit to South Shields—they worked hard, stayed organised, and ground out the 1–0 win.

Plenty still to look forward to, but that brings our league campaign to a close.

✨Opposition GOTG:
They couldn’t split it, so went for ⭐️Georgia, ⭐️Amelia and ⭐️Alice—apparently all three had a bit of swagger about them 🤣

✨Coaches GOTG:
⭐️Isla, ⭐️Robyn and ⭐️Freya—superb performances all round with

⭐️Isla—just as good on the left wing as she was at left back! Brilliant effort 👏

Best performance of the season!

Not a single player put a foot wrong all game.. they played with quality and style but mixed with an incredible work ethic and togetherness.. it really was a joy to watch!

I could go back to front and tell you what every player did well but Michael already thinks my write ups are too long 🤣

I think I knew we would win when we spoke to the girls after the game last week - it was like they had a point to prove and it was actually the first time we have beaten a top 3 team in the past 3 seasons!

A cross from Bea for the first goal which was calmly smashed past the Felling keeper by Georgia and breaking the deadlock but taking the lead in this game was crucial.. it gave us confidence and a real belief we could go on and win. The second goal was a good one to watch back as Georgia picked it up inside her own half and drove at two defenders all the way into the box before a ball to Bea for a superb finish made the game 2-0! A late goal from Felling didn’t take any gloss off what was an outstanding performance.

In between all of that we had Amelia killing them down our right side and down the left Robyn was putting in some incredible balls. The centre of midfield today was so strong with Bea, Hattie, Erin Rumins and Alice all having superb games. Isla caused them problems with her ability to go either way and the way she shielded the ball out in the second half showed great awareness.

However, it was the defence who shone today .. Erin and Evie were quite simply incredible! Winning every challenge, talking and reading the game so well .. but it was their ability on the ball that was the standout for me as they never panicked and always picked out our own girls with a pass. Gabby, Scarlett and Freya were like power houses at full back and gave us so much going forward also.. and then Shorty in goal although not having to make many saves .. did everything right!

Match Report: Boldon vs Felling Magpies

Boldon suffered a frustrating 3–1 defeat against Felling Magpies in a game that somehow managed to feel both dominant and disappointing at the same time.

The first half proved costly, with two goals conceded—both seeming to fall kindly at the feet of the Felling attackers after balls into the box. It was one of those spells where everything that could go wrong… did. And yet, aside from those moments, Boldon were firmly on top, playing some really tidy football and controlling large parts of the game—just without the finish to match.

There was a moment where we did finish well (and mild controversy) when Georgia lifted a perfectly judged lob over the keeper—only for the referee to say it was offside .. Dec - get your lines out to conclude for us .. although we thought it was offside! followed by a comment questioning the referee’s eyesight. Safe to say, the yellow card came out and we couldn’t argue!

Despite the setback, the girls showed real character. They kept pressing, kept battling, and kept trying to turn dominance into goals. Even when Felling were unfortunate in what looked like a clear penalty shout, they did end up grabbing a third—football can be cruel like that.

Boldon did get a deserved goal late on, with Alice finishing brilliantly on the half-volley after a pinpoint corner from Robyn. A quality goal that at least gave the scoreline a bit more respectability.

On another day, this game looks very different in the scoreline .. Anyone watching the VEO back will likely agree—Boldon created enough to get far more from the match. Credit has to go to the Felling keeper, who was undoubtedly their player of the match and kept them ahead when it mattered most.

Defensively, there was plenty to be proud of too. Felling’s two centre forwards were big, quick, and always a threat, but Erin and Evie stood up to the challenge brilliantly and matched them throughout most of the game.

The positive? We go again next week—same opposition, but this time at home. If Boldon can turn that control into clinical finishing, there’s every chance of flipping the result.

Same performance, sharper edge… and it could be a very different story.
