Superb effort from the lads today, especially bouncing back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1, and unluckily to just miss out on the win conceding with the last kick of the game. An amazing double save from Zac in the second half was all he had to deal with after being the busier keeper in the first half.

The passing game was a joy to watch from the touchline. Harrison using his skills to beat defenders and unleashing some great shots, deserving of a goal. Matthew finished off a brilliant team move down the pitch, slotting home from a cross at close range, with the team taking those crosses from the training pitch and putting them into practice on match day.
Every single player gave maximum effort today, but Seb just edged MoM, covering every blade of grass and driving towards the line for some cutbacks, straight off the training ground. Fantastic job, lads. Rest up, enjoy the World Cup action on TV, and let's bring that same energy next weekend! Two games to go so big thanks to Kcl Logistics Limited

The morning after the night before.

Presentation evening was superb and full award winners coming later. We had a superb night and barely saw the lads playing outside with each other for hours and hours.

It definitely showed on the pitch today as we were not at our best and missed a hatful of chances we would normally have put away. Credit to the Hilda Park keeper!

At the other end our defenders Matthew Seb and Noah took care of most things but we conceded 2 first half goals. Unlucky on both goals with one looking like it went out and the other deflected over Zac, who almost spectacularly kept it out.

The second half was just as competitive and it remained 2-0 for the majority. David, James, Harrison and Matthew all tested the keeper but to no avail.

We conceded two late goals but we were out on our feet.

MOTM was Noah who was great at the back, intercepting, taking players on and a decent freekick forcing a good save from the keeper. He ran his heart out before needing to come off and collapse in a heap. Great effort for the team.

We go again next week. 🟠⚫️🐅

Game week 7 of the Spring cup and defo feeling more like the Summer Cup. Coming up against another established div 3 team in Brandon.

We had much of the better chances and most of the ball in the first half. Harrison went close with his freekick, crashing off the bar and we didn’t react quick enough to turn in the rebound.

James then unlucky with his strike from distance, which again struck the woodwork. This time we did react well and it was Logan there to turn the ball home.

A few more half chances but we went in 1-0 up at the half.

More pressure from us in the second with David testing the keeper and Seb also going close.

We knew a 1-0 lead was never going to be stress free but our defenders Charlie, Noah Joseph and Harrison dealt with the long ball well and stopped most shots. A highlight was Charlie chesting the ball down from the keepers long kick then driving out to start another attack.

James put the game to bed chasing a lost cause, with the defender looking to see the ball out, he nipped in, drove towards goal and fired past the keeper.

Noah and James also went close with free-kicks but we didn’t add more goals in the game.

Just left to secure that elusive first clean sheet. This was our 29th league game of the season and we finally kept a clean sheet for a full game. A superb achievement in grassroots football playing the competitive teams each week.

Zac had made some great saves in the first half and was very commanding of his box today with the long balls coming in. His distribution was great and he is becoming more vocal. A well deserved MOTM. KCL Logistics Ltd thanks for the sponsorship as usual.

Penultimate weekend for Krakens and Sunday Tigers. Cracking weather for it and drinks breaks again needed.

Krakens up first at 11 against NES. An incredibly close game with great football from both sides. Two goals from James and one from Finn saw us lead 3-2 but we could t hold on and eventually lost by the odd goal. The second frustrating scoreline of the weekend after yesterday’s top performance but 5-4 loss. We can’t fault their commitment! The Armstrong Hall

Tigers sponsored by Spanish City playing a Durham team who they had shared a 5-5 draw with earlier in the year. We started strong having a couple good chances but unfortunately went 1-0 down with a low shot that caught Logan off gaurd but didnt let that happen again and made some really good saves. We didnt sit back and kept pressing and kept up the pressure we quickly got an equaliser. This was the story of the day they scored we scored all the way until the end where William had a brilliant shot which hit the post and luckily fell to David who smashed it into the back off the net with 30 seconds to go, giving us the win. No MOTM today as it was a real team performance. Every lad never stopped and where sweating, Jacob and Ben at the back managed to stop most of their attackers with help from William who was everywhere yet again today. David was solid today forcing his way through there defence with pure strength. Dylan, Charlie and Albi, who played in midfield made some cracking runs down the wings creating some fantastic challenges. It's amazing watching these lads every week and how much they've improved over the months. Go tigers Last weeks MOTM Dylan in the pics.

Game 6 vs Seaburn

A great game in the sunshine today, with plenty of drinks breaks needed in the heat.

With Zac away at karate, Logan stepped in between the posts and did an excellent job. He made some great saves throughout the game and proved once again what a reliable deputy he is. Seb was also unavailable, leaving us with just eight players. We knew it would be a tough afternoon, especially with Matthew returning after two weeks away from football.

We started slowly and quickly found ourselves 2-0 down. Seaburn are a strong side, and that gave us a mountain to climb.

Joseph responded brilliantly with a cracking strike to reduce the deficit to one goal, but Seaburn restored their two-goal advantage with another superb finish.

Half-time: 3-1

Despite the scoreline, we had created plenty of chances. We just couldn’t find our composure in front of goal, with several efforts missing the target. The opportunities were there, though, and we knew we simply had to keep working hard.

Matthew got us back into the game after a great cross from Harrison. He showed patience in the box before squeezing the ball into the corner.

Once again, Seaburn moved two goals clear with another incredible strike. Logan had very little chance with it and couldn’t get anywhere near the finish.

The lads refused to give up. David pulled another goal back after Harrison put him through, and he calmly poked the ball home. It was a goal he thoroughly deserved after being denied what looked a clear penalty in the first half.

We pushed hard for an equaliser, with both full-backs, Charlie and Noah, constantly getting forward on the overlap while continuing to make strong tackles at the back. They provided the platform for so much of our play today.

The equaliser finally arrived after more excellent work from Harrison down the left. His cross found James unmarked at the back post, and he fired home to make it 4-4.

At that stage we looked the more likely side to go on and win the game, but unfortunately we couldn’t hold on and found ourselves behind once more.

There was still time for more drama. David rounded the goalkeeper out wide and looked certain to slide the ball into an empty net, but from the tight angle his effort rolled agonisingly past the post.

A fantastic performance and a difficult result to take. The effort, determination and quality shown by the lads were outstanding, and we’ll go again next week.

I couldn’t choose a Man of the Match today. The work rate and commitment from every player was unbelievable, and it would have been unfair to single anyone out. Playing our high-pressing, quick-passing football in those conditions took a huge effort from everyone.

Game 5 of the spring cup and we wanted to keep our good form going.

Seb started brightly up top and was unlucky with a volley that hit the bar and looked to have crossed the line but wasn’t given.

Noah then drove from the back sliding a ball in for David who opened the scoring.

We were pegged back despite some great saves and bravery from Zac in goal.

James rounded the keeper and looked like he was going to slot it in the net but a despairing block saved RCA.

Our fullbacks Joseph and Harrison combined which resulted in Harrison’s shot which was saved but the ball broke to James on the edge of the box and he found the bottom corner.

Good hold up play from Logan sent Noah in but couldn’t quite get the power on to beat the keeper. 2-1 at the half with both sides having chances.

We put a bit of a second half blitz together with a lot of pressure coming from David up top. He hassled and chased everything, creating lots of chances and combining well with his attackers.

Charlie, solid at the back as usual, kept the attacks going and tested the keeper from distance. Some great decision making choosing when to shoot and when to play in his mates.

A strong challenge from Noah at the back played Harrison who took the ball from his own half and beat the keeper with a finish.

David then was fouled in the box after a strong run. He was next up on pens after last weeks miss. I’ve never seen anyone grab the ball so quickly to take the pen. He fired it hard and low to get his 4th and the team’s 6th.

With Zac looking likely to get his second half clean sheet we took our foot off the gas a little and let some chances be created which our opponents took and pegged us back to 6-4.

Matthew, who has been struggling with injury, came off the bench and put us 3 goals ahead again. Some excellent fast feet from Harrison put him in, and with back to goal, he turned and found the corner. Great work after being a frustrated spectator for 2 weeks. Power Saving Solutions

Both teams still had time to find more goals with RCA pe***ng us back again.

Harrison had the final say intercepting a pass from the keeper. He slotted the ball home into the empty net to compete the scoring.

He was awarded the MOTM for a compete all round performance at the back in the first half and on the left in the second.

Well done to all the lads. A great performance with everyone contributing.

Sunday teams in action today both with 11:15 kick offs, one at washy and one at Beamish.

Krakens v Washy Navy was a great game to watch with good football from both sides. Krakens had much the better of the first half going 2-0 up with both goals from James. Joseph played him in for the second with a very unselfish ball.

We went in 2-1 ahead with a good finish from the right from our opponents. Matthew was in goalie to his injury and Zac unavailable. He did well commanding his box and kept his second half clean sheet intact securing the win.

Jax put the result beyond doubt with a close range finish and we ran out well deserved winners. A great team performance. The Armstrong Hall

The Tigers dealt up a 5-5 thriller against Durham Falcons. A great weekend for David securing another MOTM and a hat-trick. Taking his tally to 5 for the weekend. Great work. Saturday Tigers back to the bread and butter of the league after flamingo land. We built on the success of last week and secured our first win in league 3. In what was a fairly even first half we seemed to be on top but couldn’t hit the target with our chances. James had a couple of sighters but couldn’t quite test the keeper. Witton Park had the best of the chances with Zac pulling off 3 great saves to preserve his clean sheet. 0-0 at the half.

We clicked into gear with a Noah through ball to David, who finished past the keeper.

More good work from David who was played in by Joseph and then crossed the ball hard and low. It was turned in by the unlucky defender.

Harrison went close with a couple of free kicks but it was David again who increased our lead rounding the keeper and slotting past. He was a constant menace today and earned a penalty which had been designated for Logan all season without us being awarded one. Unfortunately his effort was saved but he reacted quickly and fired in the rebound.

It was great to see the team working so hard for each other and Harrison, Joseph, Charlie and Seb getting stuck in right to the end. WWE over the top rope right at the end! They played some amazing stuff at times and calm at the back playing the ball out.

Zac had been a spectator for most of the half but a long shot flicked off Logan and beat him right near the end. Very unlucky on that one.

A great team performance and one that shows we can deal with the step up. Over to the Sunday teams tomorrow.

No doubt for MOTM after David’s great performance and I hope he’s forgiven me for not giving him the penalty. He’s on the next one!
