Super Summer of Dance!
We have a wonderful line up of Ballet, Street Dance, Hip Hop & Acrobatic Arts workshops as well as a special dance & performance project this year called “Build A Dance Show”. Our Summer holiday classes, workshops & performance project are extremely beneficial and lots of fun for all pupils. They give them a focus during the long break; helps to keep them active; try a new dance style; improve their technique, presentation skills, stamina, flexibility and strength while also allowing them to socialise with their friends and burn off some energy! Pupils wishing to take a Ballet Examination in the Autumn term should attend as many of the Summer Holiday classes as possible please.
We have also managed to book two incredible professional dancers/teachers, Alex the Lion and Sammy Ceriani who will be travelling down from London to give our dancers workshops in a variety of Street Dance styles, don’t miss this fabulous opportunity!
Please see all of the details below. All sessions will take place at Birchfield Community Centre, Birchfield Road, Yeovil
Junior Ballet Classes will be running on the following dates Wednesdays during the summer holidays: 15th July, 5th August, 12th August, 26th August at the following times:
4.00 - 4.30pm Primary and Grade 1 Ballet - £7.00 per session
4.30 - 5.00pm Grade 2 Ballet - £7.00 per session
5.00 - 5.40pm Grade 3 Ballet - £7.50 per session
5.40 - 6.20pm Grade 4 Ballet - £7.50 per session
Senior Ballet & Acro Classes will be running on the following Thursdays during the summer holidays: 16th July, 6th August, 13th August, 27th August
5.00 - 5.40pm Grade 5 Ballet - £7.50 per session
5.40 - 6.40pm Acro all ages - £8.00 per session
6.40 -7.20pm Seniors Grades 6,7,8 Intermediate & Advanced - £7.50 per session
Street Dance /Hip Hop Classes will be running on the following dates and will be open to all pupils with any or no experience in this dance style. A great chance to try or improve on this exciting energetic dance style
Monday 20th July – Professional Commercial workshop with Alex the Lion. Former HLDC pupil, Alex has had a hugely successful dance and choreography career working with incredible stars such as Mariah Carey, Dua Lipa and Rihanna. Alex has toured the world and is now back in the UK offering an incredible workshop and masterclass to all of our dancers.
6-7pm Workshop for children aged 6-12 years old £10 for the session
7-8.30pm Masterclass for ages 13+ £15 for the session.
Monday 3rd August – Professional Waaking and Hip Hop workshops with the incredible Sammy Ceriani. We are delighted to welcome back Sammy to RDC with 2 more amazing workshops. Sammy works in London as a professional dancer and choreographer and is extremely skilled in all Street Dance styles. She will back to offer 2 brand-new workshops for all of our dancers.
5.15-6.15pm Waacking workshop for children aged 6-12 years old £10 for the session
6.15-7.45pm Hip Hop workshop for children aged 13+ £15 for the session
Tuesday 11th and 18th August RDC Hip Hop workshops £8 per session
5-5.45pm for children going into school years 1-4 in September
5.45-6.30pm for children going into school years 5-8 in September
6.30-7.15pm for children going into school years 9+ in September
Tuesday 18th August only 7.15-8.00pm Adult Street Dance

“Build a Dance Show” in a week – Monday 17th - Friday 21st August
This is going to be lots of fun and will keep your children entertained for a whole week!
The children will attend daily classes from 9.00am-1.00pm to learn a selection of dances in different styles to perform to their parents and families at the end of the week. During the sessions children will also work on conditioning, dance technique and maybe even a bit of singing! There will also be time for games, competitions and a prop making workshop. It is going to be so much fun and we are really looking forward to seeing what the children can create in a week. The cost is £125 per child for the 5 day course payable to the following account (50% discount for a second child from the same household).
