Today, March 17 is Muay Thai Day and most people have no idea why. 🥊

Here's the story...

The Burmese army destroys the Thai capital of Ayutthaya and takes thousands of prisoners. One of them is a fighter named Nai Khanomtom.

Seven years later the Burmese King decides to hold a festival. He wants entertainment. He knows Nai Khanomtom can fight so he offers him a deal — beat our best fighters and we'll set you free.

Nai Khanomtom doesn't just beat one.

He beats nine of them. Back to back. No rest between fights. Each one a fresh opponent. The Burmese fighters are some of the best in the region and he dismantles every single one.

The King is so impressed he says the man's hands and feet have magic in them. He gives him his freedom on the spot.

That moment; one man, nine fights, everything on the line, is why we celebrate March 17 as Muay Thai Day.
.......

Here at Ruam Jai we honor this history, by teaching fundamental values that stick with you both inside and outside the ring.

Whenever something seems too tough; that you can't go that further step, know that it's inside you, and we will help you find it.

Remember, we didn't just inherit a fighting system, we inherited something with real blood and history behind it, and we are the future of it.

Happy Muay Thai Day. Respect to Thailand. Respect to everyone keeping this art alive. 🇹🇭🥊

Train hard. Fight fair. Stand together.
