On Friday I had the privilege of Guiding David on the Welsh 3000s challenge raising money for a charity.
With logistics sorted on the Thursday evening, all that was left was a early rise to start moving at 4am from the valley, the weather forecast was for conditions to deteriate as the day moved on. We started well and even had some sun out. But by the time we got to the top of the first climb of the final section after leaving the Ogwen valley, that weather had pushed in and made what is one of the hardest mountain challenges in the UK even tougher with constant rain and very gusty winds.
But David kept battling through and we finished in a time of about 17 hours, which includes getting up to and off the first and final peaks.
A huge congratulations to David getting it done and hope the recovery goes well.
