I am back doing powerlifiting...or actually I should say powerbuilding 💪
Having a goal in mind is the best thing you can do to stay motivated. It can be a weight goal (to lift), a clothes size, being able to do an exercise that you could never fo before, a competition ...
It doesn't matter, but having a goal in mind will help you progress faster (and keep progressing).

But don't...ever...have a weight goal (on the scale). Especially if you train weights. You probably will gain muscle so gain some weight (without realising that it is muscle not fat) and start a crazy diet and destroy all your progress. Focus on how you look and feel...

People say I can't have fun because I don't really drink, I don't party, watch what I eat, train and go to bed early.

Maybe my idea of fun is not your idea of fun. Do you know what my perfect day looks like? Going to the gym, train hard, lift heavy stuff, cook, and eat protein.

Is that sad? Maybe for you, it is, but remember everyone is different. I love leaving a simple life and taking care of my body and mind.

Do I struggle with depression... Yes... does it have anything to do with my lifestyle or life? No... this is just due to a chemical imbalance. Do I still train when I feel down? Damn yes... it will help me feel better and send endorphins in my body.

Do you need to be obsessed with the gym for some results? No, you can easily reach your goal by coming to the gym 3 times a week, getting your steps in and eating reasonably healthy 💪

Sometimes life can be though. And you feel like you are fighting against windmills ( Quixote). You feel down, you are doubting all your life decisions, you feel lost.

I am not saying that training alone will fix everything but it will help you feel a bit better. Will help you think about something else for a bit. Will help your mental health.
