South Cerney Cadet Sailors

South Cerney Cadet Sailors We're young sailors from 8 to 17 based at South Cerney Sailing Club. We train and race in Cadet dinghies, compete at events around the south and sail all sorts.

96 Cadet Squadron is the watery home of under-18 sailors and is part of South Cerney Sailing Club. We meet on Saturdays for sailing and race training with lots of other events throughout the year. The lake is large, beautiful and safe and offers the chance of paddleboarding, canoeing and windsurfing as well as sailing. Get in touch or come along for a trial session.

Our Cadet Camp was brilliant!! The weather was fab and coaches made sure our sailors had a great time on the water having fun with their friends whilst learning and keeping cool and off the water too- thanks to coaches and parent volunteers for making this happen.

Today was our cadet open which was fabulous. We had a great turn out of lots of new children that came with their parents to see if they would like to join our sailing club to learn a new skill whilst making new friends and becoming a cadet sailor. It was a beautiful sunny day and fun was had by all.

Great day on the water at the club on Saturday.
Our advanced sailors had the fantastic opportunity to train with Adam Bowers, focusing on spinnaker handling, great challenge that really sharpened skills and teamwork.
The afternoon followed with a three-race series, bringing some competitive action to round off the day. Congrats to Kyla, who took 1st place, Bruce in 2nd and Harriet and Will, who tied for 3rd place.
A hugely beneficial and enjoyable day all round — well sailed everyone! &
