⛵ A Golden Day at Rutland Sailing! ⛵

With the wind up and reefs tucked in, we enjoyed a truly magical day on the water at Rutland Sailing Club, under the watchful eye of Steve Irish Coaching

Today's focus was on communication, teamwork, and keeping the boat moving fast and smoothly. We worked on understanding our individual areas of focus, sharing the right information with the team, and understanding our manoeuvres.

One of the key lessons was simple: a fast boat is a talking boat, communicating.

If the helm is sitting there thinking, "this tiller feels heavy" or notices something unusual but says nothing, the boat becomes slow and silent.

Good communication allows the whole crew to react, adjust, and keep the boat performing at its best.

Let’s Celebrate and Say THANK YOU.

It’s volunteer week, but everyday of the year we are greatful.

Our volunteers give their valuable time so support our activities, on and off the water.

So many hours go into the charity and so much support.

Thank you is two small words but put beside a smile and a sailor out on the water, turn into more.

What David Wilkins does for sailing ⛵️ has no words.

From teens to disabled sailor to those starting to sail, to hosting events to get more people racing and rhat not it he goes and provides and update kit to allow more to happen.

Some people work quietly and make the biggest of impacts.

Nothing beats collection day excitement 🍾⛵️

RS21 154 customer David Wilkins marked the occasion in style by christening a new boat with champagne before heading off to add it to the Rutland Sailing Club fleet.

As our Head of Commercial, Michiel Geerling, put it: "From the workshop to the slipway, it's always special seeing a new boat begin its journey - and even better when it starts with smiles, celebration, and a proper launch tradition."

He’s BACK Steve Irish Coaching this weekend.

Team is looking at the theory side, planning strategies.

We try to create a balance in all our weekends, through all the coaches we bring in, but this weekend may see some brains frazzled and light 💡 switch on.
