Adachikai Sussex Iaido Dojo

Adachikai Sussex Iaido Dojo We study traditional Japanese swordsmanship, practising Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu (Yamauchi branch) and Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei (ZNKR) Iaido.

Our dojo is registered and insured with the British Kendo Association. Beginners are very welcome. Venue:

Mondays 19:00 to 21:00

About us:
Our dojo is a member of the Nihon Roshukai and we

study the Yamauchi branch of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu. Our dojo is also a member of the British Kendo Association, which is the official governing body for Iaido in the UK and practices All Japan Kendo Federation (ZNKR) Iaido. The Roshukai Sussex Iaido Dojo is a non-profit making organisation established to help promote the art of Iaido in the UK. We hold training sessions in Pevensey Bay (East Sussex) and Sompting (West Sussex).

A very enjoyable seminar celebrating the life and legacy of Honda Masayoshi Sensei. Held in parallel with the Nihon Roshukai Honbu Dojo in Adachi-ku, Tokyo - and thanks to the time difference, we were able to continue the spirit of the event here in the UK!

Truly grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow practitioners and friends to honour his memory. A special thanks to Fraser Biscombe Sensei for leading the teaching, and to everyone who attended and worked hard - it was a wonderful day! 💛

Here are a few photographs from a recent trip to Japan, November 2022. We managed this time to visit Fuji-Kawaguchiko and travel all the way up to Iwate Prefecture to Hiraizume. And then to Yamagata City and back down through Nikko, and on to Tokyo. Just in time to capture some autumn colours. Japan is such a beautiful and wonderful country with a rich culture.
