"I am my own invention" (my mantra in life) and you are your own invention too. This is my third reinca

rnation of myself professionally and I'm sure it won't be the last. Since I made the jump from a 16-year career as a chartered accountant & tax advisor to the world of health and wellness I've never looked back. Female Fitness Matters was born out of the desire to educate myself, and others, on the importance of female fitness, wellbeing and pelvic health during pregnancy and postnatal recovery. Believing deeply that every woman deserves to feel good about her body and to move freely without pain, leaking or concerns over abdominal strength I had an amazing time helping thousands of women across South Birmingham and Solihull to stay active during pregnancy, to recover post birth & to build their much needed tribes. And I thank them all for trusting me and for helping me to grow. (Much love to Jenny & the HCR® massive for this growth too)

Fast-forward a few years...I'm older (maybe wiser), perimenopausal and it's become increasingly apparent that women have never had more on their plates. And in a world where we’ve never had more information about health and wellness, we’ve never been less healthy and well. Why aren't we prioritising ourselves and what truly matters to us? So here I am...going deeper. Wanting to still help women to look and feel good, but with a real focus now on facilitating sustainable change that really speaks to the heart of what matters. More joy, more ease, more freedom and more fun. For more details about please go to www.femalefitnessmatters.co.uk or drop me a line at [email protected] or on 07970 287043.

The part of coaching AI can't reach.

AI can now replicate many of the surface elements of coaching well. It can:
* ask sensible questions
* paraphrase and reflect back
* notice discrepancies and patterns
* even sound empathetic

It's learned to "pass the test" - to match patterns with appropriate outputs - without truly understanding that questions and answers are only the visible layer. And when we stay only at that level, we often end up with insight that sounds good, but rarely creates meaningful movement.

Quality coaching lives in something much less tangible and much harder to replicate. It lies in the unspoken dynamics in the room and what the client can't yet fully articulate. It lies in.....the hesitation before an answer...the thing someone says too quickly...the story that sounds polished but doesn’t quite fit...the thing that isn't being said...the shift in energy when something important gets close...the timing, intuition and relational reading of what's happening in the moment. ..and ultimately, why this matters, right here and right now, for this person.

While we don’t need to stay stuck in the past, the past does shape how we show up, respond, protect ourselves, and make decisions today. And if we ignore that, we often end up working around the real issue rather than through it, which is why the same patterns continue to repeat, despite the best intentions to change them.

Good coaching helps you move forwards.
Better coaching helps you to understand what’s been quietly shaping things all along.
And that part still requires a human.

If you’re at a point where you know something needs to shift, but surface-level insight isn’t getting you there, my door is open.

Yesterday I completed the London Marathon — something that not so long ago felt completely out of reach.

It was an incredible day, but not just because of the finish line. What really stayed with me was the atmosphere. The crowds, the volunteers, the total strangers cheering you on — lifting people through the toughest moments. And for every autistic person who ran, that was a sensory experience like no other from start to finish. I salute you.

Every single person on that course was digging deep for their own reason — chasing goals they’d trained relentlessly for, running for charities, for loved ones, in memory of loved ones, or simply to prove something to themselves. We showed up after months of training through snow, ice, hail and rain… and then got sunshine on the day. Proof, if it was needed, that we can do hard things.

You don’t have to run a sub-2 marathon (still can’t get my head around that 🤯) or cross the line first to achieve something extraordinary. There were wins everywhere.

And I’m so proud to have been part of an amazing team of humans who raised an incredible amount of money for Autistica , helping autistic people lead happier lives.

If you feel inclined, it’s not too late to donate: https://2026tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/kerry-cox

To Cox, my family and my amazing support crew — I love you, and thank you. I promise I’ll stop talking about the marathon…eventually. For now I’m just going to groan a lot and wear my medal all week 😉

Woke up to such a lovely surprise this morning ☀️🌦️

…this personalised London Marathon forecast from and .

It’s made us all smile – the kids are obsessed (having watched it MANY times already) - and it couldn’t be more perfectly timed with all our “what will London bring?!” weather chats this week 😄

Now we’re even more excited for Sunday! If you’re around, come and cheer (it makes such a difference), and if you’d like to support our amazing charity team, donations are always so appreciated ❤️

Who knows… maybe we’ll see YOU running for next year 😉🏃‍♀️The ballot for 2027 opens on Friday! https://www.autistica.org.uk/get-involved/events/london-marathon

The amazing community that is Dickens Heath primary school just boosted our fundraising by a massive £400!!

Huge thanks to everyone for their support & generosity. To those that sent in and baked cakes, to those who kindly bought them (often donating more than than the cost of the cake) and to the teachers for helping things to go so smoothly and for allowing us to do this in the first place.

Great things happen when people come together and we’re deeply grateful for all of you.

£12 to go to hit my £2,500 fundraising target 🎯

Today’s 34km run was brutal… and a good reminder that marathon day is going to be something else 🤯

If anyone fancies being the person who gets me over the line, a £12 boost would genuinely make my day 🙏

I travelled from Solihull to London this afternoon…to run 5km.

A distance I could have achieved by simply doing a lap of the village and a confused wander around Tesco.

But tonight was about finally meeting some of the brilliant Autistica runners I’ll be lining up with at the London Marathon start line, in 8 weeks time.

We enjoyed a chatty 5km (with just one railing to be “helped” over), yummy pizza and some motivational words from George, Alex & Immy. And it was so good to speak to other people who get it — the nerves, the training, the fundraising emails, the constant checking of long-run weather forecasts 👀 — as well as hearing each of their stories.

In April we’ll be swapping this for 26.2 miles to support autism research that helps autistic people live happier, healthier, longer lives 💜

If you’d like to support my fundraising (and help justify the rail fare), please do click the link below. Donations, however small, all add up and are gratefully received.

Do we actually need toenails?

I ask because one of mine appears to be handing in its notice after months of loyal service.

On the plus side, my marathon training is now up to 30km and I’m still alive. On the downside, my feet look like I’ve been trekking barefoot across Middle-earth.

If anyone would like to sponsor me at this difficult time, donations towards replacement toenails or industrial-strength foot moisturiser will be gratefully received.

Alternatively, you can use the link below to send your donation directly to the very deserving — and give my remaining toenails a reason to hang on in there. 👣

January can be the point where good intentions meet real life.

The plan was solid.
Motivation was there.
And then… tiredness, weather, busy weeks, missed workouts, skipped meals.

If you’ve felt yourself wobble already, here’s the reminder I keep coming back to:

Progress isn’t about perfect weeks. It’s about returning.

Most people set habits based on who they are on a great day.
But real change is built on your hard days — when you do something rather than nothing.

A shorter walk still counts.
A simpler meal still counts.
Lowering the minimum doesn’t lower your standards — it raises your consistency.

Perfection isn’t the goal. Direction is.

You will drift. You will miss days.
That’s not failure — it’s feedback.

The people who make lasting change aren’t the most disciplined.
They’re the ones who correct gently and keep going.

1% better consistently beats 100% perfect for a week. Always.

If you’re feeling stuck — in your body, your habits, or your head — I currently have a couple of spaces available for 1:1 work (in person or online).

Some people come for exercise and nutrition support.
Others need a space to talk things through.
Many don’t know which they need yet — and that’s okay.

If this resonates, feel free to message me.
