You might have noticed recently the BMX track in Jubilee Park have a re-surface. I managed to chat to Blake this morning who is doing a great job so everyone can continue to use the track.
Blake used this track when it first opened as a kid, and now he is looking after it. He runs [green_shovel](https://www.instagram.com/green_shovel?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR4zoOZlqzN4Z66d6bqdZhu7pHP0xS6mRLqDn_zC7X2U1SjtsZbvQL35FtPDBg_aem_yaqk1rq8zVI8QGxUd2PO4Q) landscape and gardening, but is happy to help out at the track.
It's a lovely example of locals getting involved to look after their own park, perhaps this could inspire you to join us at Friends of Olton Jubilee Park and do a small bit to maintain and improve our park?
The final touches are being put to a £20,000 grant we have just bid for and won to improve drainage by the bridge, add disabled access and improvement for the courts, install new paths and plant new trees.
We need more help to implement more improvements, we have bigger ideas, so come and join us! You can also give Blake a follow on his social media and give him a shout if you need some gardening or landscaping help - email him on [email protected] or contact him through his socials.
