About Divya's Natya Alaya (DNA):
The dance school's inception in Solihull is to promote and educate people of all age groups in the Indian classical art forms of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. It has its roots in the Indian Classical Dance Academy based in Sheffield since 2010. The motive is to ensure that the students understand, enjoy and appreciate the art forms. As an advancement in their lea

rning experience, the students are taught the basic nuances of Nattuvangam for a more holistic understanding of the art. About the teacher:
Divya Unnikrishnan is a resident of Solihull and has been teaching these art forms in the UK for close to 14 years. She has a diploma in Bharatanatyam and a Masters degree in Mathematics. Her passion for dance led her to start classes in the UK ,ensuring that the current and the next generation are aware, cherish and nurture the art forms that has existed amongst us for centuries. Divya is currently a sishya of Kalailamani Guru Gopika Varma (Mohiniyattam), Guru Kalashetra Sruthy Jayan (Bharatanatyam) and Smt Kalamandalam Karthika Harikrishnan (Nattuvangam)
