Friday was a different evening as we sailed along the walkway due to the wind direction and speed. A great choice as we all enjoyed an evening of a constant wind, very few wind shifts and gusts.
Well done Jon on another win and David for the overall win. Thanks to David W for being OOD for the evening and keeping all proceedings in order.
There were some great starts with the majority of the fleet starting in a tight pack on countdown. Very exciting and superb fun and then a couple of drinks were thoroughly enjoyed at the sailing club bar.
If interested come down to watch our group on a Friday evening from 5.30-7pm and if there is time have a go with one of our boats. It is such a brilliant hobby, superb group of members, challenging, exciting, fun, competitive (in a good way) and is very social and supportive.
New members are hugely welcomed and given a mentor to help! Hope to see you soon

Wow! How competitive was that last night?
There were as an early shock, with Jon chalking up his first win, and he went on to complete a consistent set of counting races, finishing fourth overall. Well done indeed!
Paul managed to get his new hull rigged and racing and also recorded an early win. A sign that the Yellow Peril will become a force to be reckoned with as he gets the boat set up?
Twelve boats competed in a goodly breeze, with a tricky windward leg that saw plenty of place changes. Good work Colin and Peter for setting a challenging course.
This was our first week with rotating race observers and there’s no doubt this helped to keep the line “clean” and most subsequent racing infringements were spotted and turns completed appropriately.
All washed down in a convivial atmosphere in the clubhouse. Perfect start to the weekend.

What a great evening on Friday MYA DF95 sailing at SBSC on Snettisham Lake. It was a mix of sunny intervals and a moderate breeze with a few patches of gusts which made it interesting choosing your ‘best’ tactical course.
Each race had an OOD which helped with the occasional chaos on the start line or congested mark. Great fun and banter as usual and lots of talk about rigging especially in the bar.
It’s been so nice to see regular new members becoming a part of our club and sharing the fun we have. Congratulations to Jon on a brilliant win and a few high placings but another successful evening to David! I’m desperately trying to hang in third place to yourself and Colin.
We have been a happy band of 6-7 boats which is now 10-12 boats regularly. Here are the results from yesterday’s sailing and the results so far:

Another special night of DF95 racing on Friday at Snettisham lakes, with Colin a worthy winner, clearly determined to defend his Summer Series title.
Many, many thanks to Jon for officiating. I can safely say that, after doing a whole evening of races, he is now an expert!!
Lively chatter in the bar après sail, capped off a lovely session.

Friday was the start of the Summer Series at Snettisham Beach Sailing Club, 5pm to 7pm and it was a challenging evenings race night with a dwindling wind that ended with no wind at all. Great to have an OOD for the first race and thanks to David for doing this, it set the tone and we completed 7 races with little incident. Illegal Luffing was the only concurring issue I saw but it was unintentional and hadn’t been realised after speaking with the helmsman.
It was a busy evening and I didn’t get the chance to take pictures but below are the results and points awarded. If interested please come down to say hello, we are a very friendly club and potentially after the races if you fancy sailing you can take over a members boat for a turn.
