As most of you will know, Will is now running the Legends Cars Championship ā which means heās had to step back from racing in the series heās loved for so many years.
That doesnāt mean heās done racing altogether. Far from it. Heās hoping to jump into a few races in other series across the year, and the plan is still very much to head to the U.S. Legend Cars International and INEX World Finals later this year.
And for those wondering whether he still gets his fix of Legends adrenaline ā he does! Will is out in the twoāseater Legend Car before every race, taking guest passengers (usually series personnel, team members or sponsors) for a blast around the circuit. Itās not quite the same as racing, but it keeps him close to these little machines.
In the meantime, his championshipāwinning #57 car has taken on a new life as the Championshipās own rental car. With the first two meetings of the season already complete, itās had two brilliant guest drivers behind the wheel:
⢠Anthony Gauntlett, who joined us at Silverstone but couldnāt complete the full weekend due to commitments in another series on the International layout.
⢠Mark Ridout, who first tried a Legend at our January taster day, was immediately hooked by these little machines, and then put in a fantastic performance in the #57 at Donington Park.
This weekend at Brands Hatch GP, the car will be driven by Chris Thelwell, who also attended the January taster day & runs car #577 š in the Mazda MX5 Championship. We canāt wait to see how he gets on!
A huge thank you goes to LRS Racing, the family team who have kindly taken on the job of running the #57 on busy race weekends. Theyāve been brilliant, and if youāre not following them already, weād really recommend giving them a follow.
And while weāre on the subject ā if you donāt yet follow the Legends Cars Championship page, nowās a great time to head over and keep up with everything happening across the grid.
Finally, to everyone who has supported over the years: thank you. Your messages, likes, comments and trackside chats have meant the world.
We might not be racing as regularly right now, but weāre certainly not done. Updates will be a little more sporadic as we settle into life as series owbers, but keep an eye out⦠thereās plenty more to come. š
