Whilst the blue green algae has dispersed a lot after last nights rain, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel racing again today, hopefully the situation will resolve itself over the next week when the canal is in regular use and the lakes flushed with new water

Update
The blue green algae has dispersed a lot but is still very obviously present, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel racing again today, we hope this will be resolved shortly when the canal is used regularly through the week and the lake is flushed.

Unfortunately due to a blue green algae bloom we have taken the decision to cancel racing today.

The bloom is extensive and spread across the surface of the lake, we will continue to assess today and hopefully the wind tomorrow will disperse it to a point where it is safe to sail.

Hi all, just a reminder, there is a high chance of blue green algae in the lake at this time of year, it has been reported that someone thinks they have seen it in the lake, please take extra care and check the water for signs before going windsurfing, swimming or sailing if you think you have come into contact with it please make sure to use the facilities in the club house for a good shower, and don’t drink the lake water or allow your pets to do the same.

Could we also remind all members to lock up the bar gate and club house if you are last out.

Finally the rescue boat has had the diesel removed and been refilled with petrol, please can we ask, if you are not sure what fuel to use, check with someone who knows. If in doubt, call Dave, or send a messenger message to Beaver Sailing Club

Wow what a weekend, it couldn’t have been delivered without the dedicated help of loads of people, and we wanted to say a massive Thankyou to everyone who helped out to make the event the success it was, well done everyone for showing the club in the brightest light possible! Here’s looking forward to the next one
