*Although our game 5 against Solent was over a month ago, we’d be remiss if we didn’t still recognise these playmakers*

👑 Overall MVP - #7 Oli Davies

What more can you say about someone who had 5 touchdowns in a single game? (We don’t talk about the sixth one that was ruled out for an offensive penalty). Oli’s ability to lead the offense and take control as needed, while also being a shutdown corner, has been invaluable for the Lions and long may it continue.

🔥 Offence MVP - #60 Betsy Mawdsley

Betsy was everywhere on both offense and defense, so her efforts deserve to be highlighted. Blocking was once again on point ensuring wide open running lanes for the Lions offense to prosper.

🛡️ Defence MVP - #10 Ruth Matta

Ruth played sideline to sideline making tackle after tackle against a tough Solent offense. Her athleticism and ability to read a play as it develops is still unmatched in this game.

🎯 Special Teams MVP - #47 Emily Brett

Emily has been an incredible addition to the Lions both on defense and with her kicking. This was yet another experienced performance from her as she led from the front, even making tackles from her own kickoffs!

The momentum doesn't stop! This weekend, the Birmingham Lions are back in action for NWFL Game 5, and we need you loud, proud, and packing the sidelines as we take on the Solent Thrashers! 🦁🔥

*MVPs*

👑 *Team MVP - #47 Emily Brett*

Emily has been at the forefront of the Lions season so far and things are only improving with each game. Providing a blanket coverage on one side of the field including an interception, her tackling was solid all day long and she led the defence. Throw into that the first ever successful kick in Birmingham Lions history and Emily is leading from the front each and every game in Lions colours.

🎯 *Special Teams MVP - #80 Abbie Medlar*

Specials can often be dominated by a booming kicker or an elusive returner but the value of a precise and efficient long snapper should never be underestimated. Abbie didnt miss a single long snap all day contributing to a solid punt and kick unit.

🛡 *Defensive MVP - #20 Deneya Rowe*

Neya’s all round performance on the defensive side of the ball was a joy to watch. She contributed with some excellent form tackles and topped it off with 2 interceptions both with incredible returns that fell just short of the end zone each time. We look forward to seeing her register her first score in the near future as her development continues.

🔥 *Offensive MVP - #37 Polly Grimsley*

The offence was lead in the trenches by all round blocking by the entire unit but leading from the front at tight end was Polly. Her constant improvement in her blocking game showed dividends this week as she punched holes in the defence throughout the game. The unsung heroes of any successful offence getting the recognition they deserve and setting the tempo with calm and assured efficiency.
