📣 Exciting Opportunity for Young People!

Sandwell Deaf Community Association are hosting two important upcoming sessions for young people aged 8–17 years 🎉

These sessions are open to young people who are:
👂 Deaf
🔊 Hard of Hearing
👁️ Deafblind
🎧 Hearing aid users
🦻 Cochlear implant or other hearing device users

Delivered by the Children and Young People Team at SignHealth, these sessions are a great chance to:
✅ Learn about important topics
✅ Share your views
✅ Ask questions
✅ Get practical advice in a safe and supportive space

📅 Session Dates:
• Monday 29th June – Internet safety and harm
• Monday 6th July – Taking care of your wellbeing

🕔 Time: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

📍 Location: Dorothy Parkes Centre, Church Road, Smethwick, B67 6EH

UNICEF are calling on all schools across the UK and Ireland to take part in the Play 31 Challenge — giving children 31 more minutes of play on the school day.
Let’s celebrate and protect children’s right to play 💛

Go Play Sandwell are already championing play across all towns in Sandwell, with free play sessions 50 weeks of the year for children ages 6-12 (or up to 16 with SEND).

🎉 FREE PLAY IS BACK! 🎉

We’re excited to share that, thanks to funding from the Go Play Grassroots Programme 2026–2027, Parakeet FREE Play sessions are returning!

🌟 Join us for a special National Play Day celebration on Wednesday 5th August, followed by monthly FREE Play sessions from 19th September.

Children aged 5–12 can enjoy:
🏰 Den building
🍽️ Mud kitchen play
🎨 Large loose parts
🏖️ Sand play
🌳 Tree swing
🎭 Arts, crafts, creating and making

Our FREE Play sessions give children the time, space, and freedom to play their way, make friends, build confidence, and create their own adventures.
