The Firsts beat Cononley 4:1 yesterday at the MJL. Azza Hollindrake bagged another hat trick and Gaz Lord grabbed another MOTM!
Manager Kyle Thornton said: “After two disappointing defeats in two very close games I wanted us to feed off that and really stamp our authority on the game and yesterday we did just that.
We dominated possession at first, finding it hard to break down the low block of Cononley and went down early to a set piece from the visitors.
The main thing that pleased me is heads did not go down and we still kept to our principals and found the breakthrough just before half time which is what we needed.
More of the same in the second half with a superb free kick from the skipper to take us into a deserved lead. 2-1 soon became three after a sending off and a coolly dispatched penalty, and a fourth added as gaps started to appear late on.
Fantastic performance from the lads and hopefully we can start a run in the league and build on these performances!”

The Reserves suffered a heavy defeat away at league leaders Crosshills.
Manager Kane Bethell said: “A game to forget. We were outclassed, outgunned and outfought today by a very strong Crosshills side.
We weren't at the races from the off and deserved everything we got. Aside from a spell at the end of the first half where we thought we might get back into it, we didn't capitalise and then were made to pay. A performance we don't expect at this club and one that we will move on from quickly.
Credit to Crosshills who didn't take their foot off the gas and will be right up there at the end of the season. The performance today from us though wasn't acceptable and we will put it right next time out.”
