We are delighted to announce that our brand new Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors kit has arrived and is now ready for players to collect at their next training session.

It is fantastic to see the new kit finally here, and even better to know that our players will soon be wearing it with pride throughout the season.

🎨🏉 YOUR DESIGN. YOUR SHIRT. YOUR NAME. 🏉🎨

To celebrate the launch of our new Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors merchandise range, we want our players to help us create what comes next.

We are inviting every current Minis and Juniors player to create their own rugby themed design that they would love to see on one of our future T shirts or hoodies.

The winning design will become part of our merchandise range.

🏆 The design will be turned into real clothing
👕 It will be available to buy from our store
⭐ The products featuring it will be named after the winning player
🎁 The winner will receive their own FREE T shirt featuring the design

The brief is simple. Make it rugby themed and let your imagination do the rest.

Children are welcome to use the Skipton RFC name or badge if they wish, or create something completely original.

Designs can be hand drawn or created digitally, with one entry per child.

Parents should send a photo or scanned copy of the design to the Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors page via Messenger, including the player’s:

📅 Entries close 25 September

The winning design will be announced during our Open Day and Pre Season Party on Sunday 27 September.

Every purchase from our Minis and Juniors merchandise range helps raise funds for the section, so one of our young players could create something that helps support the future of their club.

🏉🎉 MINIS AND JUNIORS OPEN DAY AND PRE SEASON PARTY 🎉🏉
We have a fantastic afternoon planned at Skipton RFC on Sunday 27 September, and we would love to welcome current families, returning players and anyone thinking about giving rugby a try.
⏰ Starting at 11:30am

We will begin just as we would on a normal Sunday, with skills based rugby training led by our coaches. It is a great opportunity for our existing players to continue developing and for new children to come along and experience rugby in a friendly and welcoming environment.

After training we will head into the clubhouse for something to eat, music and plenty of time for players and parents to socialise before heading back outside for more rugby.

There will also be food, a tuck shop, our second hand kit stall, a registration table for new families, activities for the children and the clubhouse bar open for parents.

Whether your child already plays, has played before or has never picked up a rugby ball, come down and enjoy the club.

🏉 ANOTHER GREAT SUNDAY MORNING AT SKIPTON RFC MINIS & JUNIORS ❤️🖤

Another brilliant training session this morning, with children from across our age groups coming together for a joint warm up before splitting into their own sections for more focused, age appropriate coaching.

There were plenty of smiles on the pitch, lots of energy, and just as importantly, plenty of parents in the stands enjoying a catch up while the children trained.

It was also fantastic to welcome a new player down for their first session, with more enquiries coming in from families interested in giving rugby a try.

That is exactly what we want to see.

At Skipton RFC Minis & Juniors, we are proud to offer a friendly, welcoming and inclusive environment where children can make friends, build confidence, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy playing rugby.

No previous experience is needed. Whether your child has played before, wants to return to the game, or has never picked up a rugby ball, they are very welcome to come along and see what we are all about.

🏉 MORE PLAYING TIME. MORE DEVELOPMENT. MORE ENJOYMENT.

The RFU sets clear limits on how much rugby children can play at each age grade, as shown in the official guidance below.

That creates an important question for parents.

If an age group has a squad of 30 or more players, particularly below U14 level, how can every child be guaranteed meaningful time on the pitch?

At Skipton RFC Minis & Juniors, we can. ❤️🖤

Our squad sizes allow us to make sure that every child gets the opportunity to play, develop and feel part of the team.

We believe junior rugby should be about much more than simply being named in a squad. Children come to rugby to play rugby, build confidence, learn new skills, make friends and enjoy being part of a team.

That is why we aim to ensure every available player gets at least 50% match time, rather than spending most of their Sunday watching from the touchline.

✅ A welcoming environment where every player matters

We are always happy to welcome new and returning players across our Minis & Juniors age groups. No previous rugby experience is needed.

🏉 A brilliant return to training for Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors

It was fantastic to see so many of our Minis and Juniors back on the pitch on Sunday 6 September as training got underway for the new season.

The weather may not have been especially kind, but that certainly did not stop the smiles, effort and enthusiasm from our young players. It was brilliant to see so many children enjoying their rugby, reconnecting with teammates and getting stuck back into the game.

A huge thank you to all the players, parents, coaches and volunteers who helped make the first session back such a positive one.

As always, we are welcoming new and returning players across our age groups. No experience is required, and all children are welcome to come down, give rugby a try and see what Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors is all about.

For those already enjoying the new season, please remember to register on Spond and pay your subscriptions as soon as possible. This helps the club, coaches and volunteers keep everything organised for the season ahead.

If you are unsure about registration, subscriptions or anything else, please speak to your team’s coach and they will be happy to help.

🎉 We’re nearly at 200 followers, and we’re celebrating with a giveaway! 🎉

The Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors page is getting close to 200 followers, and with our brand new merchandise range launching on 14th September, we thought it was the perfect time to say thank you for the support.

To celebrate, we’re giving away one of our new 14oz stainless steel travel mugs, supplied by our kit and merchandise supplier Integrity Stitching .

🏉❤️🖤 SUNDAY MORNING RUGBY IS BACK!

If you want to see what being part of Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors is really like, come and join us on Sunday 6 September.

Our Sunday mornings are the traditional heart of Minis and Juniors rugby.

From 10:00am until around 11:15am, our players train with their age groups, developing skills, learning the game, making friends and having plenty of fun along the way.

We are inviting boys and girls aged 6 to 13 to come down and experience a Sunday session for themselves.

😊 Plenty of fun
❤️ A welcoming rugby community

There is no previous experience required and no expectation that you already know the rules.

Just turn up ready to have a go.

Our regular Sunday sessions will continue through September as we build towards the return of matches in October, making this a great time for new players to join, settle into their age group and get to know their teammates.
