Cavalier Approach (closest the camera), a full brother to our filly, Northerner, was unlucky to follow up on his recent win yesterday at Musselburgh Racecourse
He looked all over the winner when coming from the back with a great run under jockey, Graham Lee for trainer Ruth Carr. There was a collision in the final furlong. The stewards promoted him to second place following an enquiry.

We've been reviewing the career of Profitable, the sire of our new two year old filly - Northerner.

Profitable (IRE) was a champion racehorse born in 2012, known for his incredible speed and stamina. He was bred in Ireland by the famous Moyglare Stud Farm, and was trained throughout his career by Clive Cox.
Profitable’s racing career spanned four years, during which he competed in some of the most prestigious flat races in the world. He made his debut as a two-year-old in 2014, winning a maiden race at Bath Racecourse. His impressive victory caught the attention of many racing enthusiasts, and he quickly became a horse to watch.

The following year, Profitable competed in several Group races, finishing in the top three in each of them. He then won his first Group 1 race, the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, in 2016. This was a significant moment for the horse, as the King’s Stand Stakes is one of the most prestigious sprint races in the world.

OWN A SHARE IN A RACEHORSE
Have you ever dreamed of owning a racehorse? The thrill of watching it gallop across the finish line, the excitement of being a part of a winning team, and the prestige that comes with owning a champion. But for many, the cost of owning a racehorse is simply out of reach.

Racehorses are expensive to purchase and maintain, with the average annual cost of ownership ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of pounds. However, there is a way to experience the excitement of horse ownership without breaking the bank: Grid Iron Racing.

Racehorse shares allow individuals to purchase a portion of a racehorse, splitting the cost of ownership and sharing in the excitement of success. With the rise in popularity of racehorse shares, more and more people are able to experience the thrill of horse ownership.

Owning a share in a racehorse is an exciting and rewarding experience. It's also fairly accessible, even for those with smaller budgets. At Grid Iron Racing we provide the opportunity to purchase shares in our horses for a single fee without any ongoing obligations or subscriptions. Owning a stake in one or more of these thoroughbreds allows you to become an active part of the racing world, and take pride in your horse’s successes.
Unlike a racing club, you'll actually own a stake in the horse and share in prize money and other benefits.

What are Racehorse Shares?
Racehorse shares are a way for multiple investors to own a percentage of a racehorse. The cost of purchasing a share can vary depending on the horse's pedigree, age, and racing history. The ownership of a racehorse share can provide investors with the opportunity to experience the thrill of horse racing without the high cost of owning an entire horse.

No ongoing costs
There are no expenses for training fees, vet bills, or any other costs during each one-year term.
When it comes to investing in Grid Iron Racing shares, there is one major advantage that stands out: no expenses for training fees, vet bills, or any other costs during the one-year term of the agreement. This means that you can acquire a horse without worrying about having to pay extra costs and still benefit from any winnings or other rewards that may come from owning a racehorse.

Are there any additional fees?
The share price varies for each horse, but there are no additional fees regardless of any expenses during the syndicate term.

Follow your horse
As a unique opportunity to be a part of the racing world, owning a share in a racehorse offers you more than just the chance to win money. You can stay in touch with your horse’s progress and get updates from the trainers, jockeys and grooms through emails, text alerts and exclusive blog posts. Not only do these keep you informed on all of the latest news, but they also allow you to gain a better understanding of the sport and your horse’s performance.
Owning a share in a racehorse also gives you the opportunity to attend exclusive events and meet other owners, trainers and jockeys at the track. There’s something special about meeting your horse’s connections and getting to know them on a more personal level, while being able to watch your horse run in person is an experience like none other.

Each horse is allocated a certain number of Owners’ badges by racecourses. These badges permit free entry to the course, access to the paddock and winner’s enclosure, and use of the Owners’ and Trainers’ facilities. We distribute owners badges via a ballot. Each owner receives one vote per share. For instance, if you have one share in the horse, you get one chance for an owner's badge, and if you have ten shares, you get ten chances.

We also hope to work with racecourses to secure discounts on additional entry tickets for our owners whenever possible.
It’s an exciting experience that can be shared with friends and family alike, making it a great way to join in on the fun of racing without breaking the bank.

Can I visit my horse?
Yes you can visit your horse. Stable visits can be arranged by calling us to arrange a booking, which are free for an owner to attend. We'll also hold owner's days throughout the year where we open the yard for owners to come and meet their horses.

Own more than one
Are you interested in racing? Then why not buy shares in as many horses as you like! We intend to build a racing team and you can be part of it. You can buy shares in more horses or add additional shares in any horse you like. This way, you’ll be able to spread your investments and increase your enjoyment.

It’s not just about winning either; it’s also about getting to know the horses and the people involved in their training. You can follow their progress and watch them compete at events around the country.

This could open the door to a whole new world of racing, giving you the chance to expand your knowledge and become a bigger part of this exhilarating sport.
As an owner you will share in any winnings from your horse.
By having a percentage ownership, you will be paid a proportionate amount of any winnings earned by the horse each year, after deducting jockey and entrance fees.

Owning a share in a racehorse opens up a world of benefits that go beyond just the chance to win money. Attending exclusive events, meeting other owners and trainers, and having access to discounts on race tickets and memorabilia are all perks available to owners. Plus, you can take pride in your horse’s successes as you keep tabs on their progress and follow their races.

How many shareholders in each racehorse?
Unlike many microshares in horses, where the shares run into many thousands, ours are divided into 1000 shares. Typically around half of these shares will be available to buy. This makes you much more involved in the horse and gives you a greater chance of entering owners and trainers at the course. Your share of prize money and equity in the horse is also greatly increased. All the co-owners are registered owners with a defined percentage share.

Make a gift of shares in one or more horses with our gift cards.

The perfect gift for the horse racing enthusiast in your life is a share in one or more racehorses. With our gift cards, you can give the special someone in your life the chance to own a piece of one or more racehorses and enjoy the thrill of being part of something bigger.

Racehorse shares come with many benefits, including access to exclusive discounts, owner privileges, and the chance to win money. With our gift cards, you can give someone the perfect gift and help them experience the excitement of horseracing first hand.

Gift cards are a popular option, with prices starting at less than £60. They offer the opportunity for anticipation, excitement, and days out at the races as an owner. Each gift is a one-time payment that lasts for the entire racing season, with no additional fees once a racehorse is selected.

Giving a share in a racehorse is a great present for horse racing fans. You can gift it to a friend, loved one, or yourself. The gift will be delivered to the recipient's inbox on a date and time of your choosing. Share the joy!

Will I meet my trainer?

Owners have the opportunity to witness their horse in training at the yard and observe their horses on the gallops during our trainers' VIP open days held throughout the year. We plan to have a number of yard visits throughout the year. We can also arrange private visits with some advanced notice. You'll also meet the trainer and jockey if you attend the races when your horse is running.

Introducing Northerner: an unraced 2 yo with great potential!
Northerner is a stunning 2-year-old filly with a promising future in the world of racing. Her breeding is impressive, as her sire, Profitable, is a new leading source of speed in the industry. Profitable was a top-class sprinter and winner of the group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at the age of 4. At 5, he was the runner-up in the same race. Notably, he is the only stallion with multiple sprinting group 1 winners from his 2022 three-year-olds.

Northerner’s dam, Beauty Pageant, was no slouch either. She won five races and was placed 14 times on the flat. Beauty Pageant has had six foals, of which five have raced and two have won. With such a strong bloodline, it’s no wonder Northerner is expected to perform well on the track.

But Northerner’s potential goes beyond her breeding. She has a beautiful conformation, making her an impressive sight on the training track. Her athletic build suggests that she’ll make a great 5-6f horse, capable of holding her own against the best.

As an unraced 2-year-old, Northerner has yet to prove herself on the racecourse. However, with her impressive pedigree and physical attributes, she’s certainly one to watch out for in the future. Get involved for updates on Northerner’s progress as she prepares to make her racing debut.
