Hey Pit Stoppers.
How was your two-wheeled weekend?
The annual Jennride was a belter. Good weather again, have we ever had a wet Jennride?. Great to meet old trail friends and another cracking route.
We rode, we climbed. We snacked and chatted at corner shops and cafes. We climbed a bit more and more and more and then we enjoyed our descending rewards.
We hicked and we pushed up a brutal stone staircase only to have to walk down the other side. As I said, brutal.
One last climb before bedtime and a night in the sleeping bag under the stars. Epic first day.
Up early. A Murray's Pit Stop Coffee to kick start the limbs and off to climb Hardknott and Wrynose Pass all before 8am.
More meandering miles towards Ambleside and a hearty bacon butty. Another hot brew and the last few miles back to Staveley.

The Jennride has a special place in my riding calender. It means a lot. A ride with a cause and a purpose. "What would Jenn do" and now "What would Iain do" now come together. I found myself many times pausing to reflect and reminisce. I always continued with a smile, a

So peeps what did you get up to on the weekend. It was MTB race day Sunday. Been a long time since I raced and it didn't disappoint.
Big thumbs up to the Shibden Cycling Club, Hope Technology Ltd for putting on an exciting route and race.
In typical style, I commuted to the event. A windy 23km ride to the train station followed by a hilly 21km to the event. Needless to say the legs blew with a lap and a half to go. The course was awesome, tech, fast, tough and exciting. Lots to keep you busy and focused. With no gels packed it was a slow lap to the finish line. The brain said push on but the legs said NO :)
Glad I had a lift home.

Let the wood stain dry then fill in the letters with some colour epoxy resin.

Roasting a batch of Costa Rica Amapola Tarrazu coffee beans. Nutty, rich and creamy med/drk bean.
Taking an hour or two out of my fixing bikes day to roast some fresh beans for a customers order.

If there was one thing Iain and I enjoyed together it was a good coffee brew and a chat.
We roast our own beans now buddy, you’d have loved them.
Next time you visit peeps grab yourselves a bag, beans or ground. Freshly roasted in-house.
