🎉 THROWBACK THURSDAY! 📸

Time for another trip down memory lane… and this one comes with a little mystery! 🕰️🔍

This fantastic photograph of the British Legion Band at Skelmorlie Bowling Club, with Tudor House in the background, was recently found pinned to a board in the Bowls House.

There’s no date or year on the photograph, and we have absolutely no idea who left it there! 🤔

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Thomas McMillan on 07/09/2026.

Tom was a much loved character, a great bowler, with a long-standing connection to Skelmorlie Bowling Club. He was the son of former club Presidents and Champions, Tam and Beth McMillan, and remained a great supporter of our club throughout the years.

Tom was also a current member of Halkshill Bowling Club, and his connection with Skelmorlie continued through his nieces, who are members of our club, along with his many friends. More recently, Tom and his family started the McMillan Memorial Trophy, which will continue to be played for in his memory, a lovely lasting tribute to a man who meant so much to his family and the bowling community.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his wife Elaine, his children Alistair and Natalie, and all their families at this incredibly sad time.

A true character, a great bowler and a familiar face who will be sadly missed. 🤍

Rest in peace, Thomas. 💛💙

And that brings our Gents Fours to a close, and officially brings Finals Week to an end! 🤩

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it such a brilliant competition.

Another great evening at the club as our Gents Triples competed tonight!

A fantastic atmosphere, with plenty of support around the green, although they very nearly found themselves finishing their games in complete darkness! 😂🌧️

Well done to Bill Bailey, Jim Burns & Rab Halbert on taking the win! 🏆👏

And so, what once was Finals Weekend and somehow became Finals Week is almost over!
