I would like there to be another General Election. I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election.

We've just have couple of great days shooting at Burgh Rifle & Pistol and raised £220.00 for our local Poppy Appeal. Our late member Barry Mills who passed away a week or so ago was our person at the club who use to sort the collection for our local Poppy Appeal and had done so for many years and will be greatly missed but not forgotten!
When Doug was alive (I can't believed that it is over 3years since he pasted away) was also big into this too being ex-military.

The way we scored up was the shooter with the best group of shots on the target and the best in desenting order is

Denis with 20 out of 20 shouts - well done Denis
Alex with 19
John with 18
Steve with 18
Chris with 17 and 14 (shot twice with different rifles)
Richard with 17
Craig with 17
Dan with 16
Scott with 15
Keith with 14
Gareth with 14
Chris with 12
Alan with 12

Just so you know what we were using, they all used rifles from the 1st and 2nd World Wars, such Enfield 303, Ma**er 8mm, Mosen Nagant 7.62mm with standard military battle open sights and this was all done at 100 yards.
So this was well done to them!
We have done this for the last 4 or 5 years and has been greatly supported by our club members.

Good Evening All,

As the title says it's another sad day for us all, as Margaret faithful companion "Charlie" has passed away earlier today.
Having in-during cancer of his back leg for some time now.
It will seem very strange going to the club and not having him here!
But it's better to happen sooner than later and have him suffer even more.
He has been laid to rest with the other club dogs at the bottom of the field where we scattered Doug's ashes a few years ago, they are all together now in a better place!
I'm that this is the only photo I have of him with Roche - Charlie was the only dog that wore a collar!

I don't know if Margaret is looking to get another dog or not, but I would not be surprised to see a new face at the club soon.

With a sad heart and all of our thoughts with Margaret.

Regards

Hi Everyone,
I can't believe that another year has gone by so quickly!
It only seems like yesterday when we had our last Poppy Day Shoot in 2021 in aid of our local Poppy Appeal.
We had another good turn out on Sunday from our members and friends this last Sunday 6th November with 17 people taking part in this year Poppy Day Shoot.
Like last year they have 20 rounds at 100 metres with either a British 303 Enfield or a German Ma**er Rifle.
Like last year we were not scoring like a normal target but the best group of shoots on the target.
The best shot of the day was Andy Greyson (1st) (like last year!) with his half worn out barrel on his British Enfield No4 303 calibre rifle. He only had 1 shot in the blue all the rest was either Gold or Red - Well Done again Andy.
Coming a close 2nd was Bob Barr with his Enfield Target Rifle in 7.62 x 51 Nato he had 4 in the Blue all the rest either Gold or Red - Well Done Bob
And a very close 3rd eas Richard Smith who came 2nd last year with his P14 Rifle in 303.
Well done everybody who took part and in helping us raise £255.00 for the Poppy Appeal.
We had a small raffle which helped toward the money raised,1st Prize was a bottle of Scotch won by John Baggot and 2nd prize was won by Josh Garnham which was 3 miniture bottles of Scotch.
The photos below are Andy holding his Target along with the plague for the Best Shoot and Bob with his target.
We will have money to put into the pot for the Poppy Appeal once we've counted up the money in our Poppy Collection Tin.
If any of you out there are interested in take part in similar events please drop me a line at [email protected]

Hi Everyone,
I know it’s been a very long time since my last post, but we’ve got somethings happening at the club.
We’ve got a couple of members organising competitions for those of you who like to do a bit more than plinking
For this look on or whats app page
We’re having an other “Poppy Day Shoot” on Sunday 6th of November
All funds raised will go to our local Poppy Appeal.
So what going to happen on the day
We will be shooting 1st & 2nd World War Rifles such as 303 Lee Enfield or 8mm Ma**er, or Russian Mosin Nagant on our 100 metre outdoor range
This for standard rifles with iron sight as they used at the time
We will be shooting 20 rounds (a box of 20) at a large target.
We will be scoring on the best overall shooting so not necessarily the highest score but also the best group too!
I know there are going to be some of you who don’t have one of these type of rifles but there’s no problem there is we have a couple of club rifles that you can use.
The cost of the shoot is £10.00 for club members and £15.00 for non members plus the cost of ammo.
So if you have some friends who would like to come along please bring them
If you have any questions please give us a call on 01754 810424
Looking forward to seeing you all on 6th November @ 10.00am

Also we are open on Wednesday nights for beginners who want to have a go at shooting for first time we open at 7.00pm, again call for more info on 01754 810424 or email us at [email protected]

All the best for now

Good Afternoon Everybody,
It's been a long time since we been on here but I thought you would like to know who came first on Sunday 7th November Poppy Appeal Shoot at the Lincolnshire Shooting Centre.
The best overall shot on the day was Andy Grayson who gave the best group of 20 shots on his target followed by a close second - Richard Smith.
Andy shown here with his trophy - well done Andy

Good Evening Everyone,

I'm sorry it has been some time since the last email but I'm now back to work full time and don't always have the time to sit down in front of the computer and send these emails out.

We are now fully opened up at the club, that is inside and outside.

We've also changed our opening times - We are not open on a Monday - this is to give Doug & Margaret some time off - otherwise they are there 24/7 and Mondays are one of our quieter nights.

So our opening times are as follows:

Monday - Closed
Tuesday to Friday - 10.00am to 2.00pm on the outdoor ranges to be booked in advance with Margaret or Doug - kegs & targets to be collected at the bungalow.
Week day Evenings - 7.00pm until 9.00pm on the indoor range
Saturday & Sunday - 10.00am to 2.00pm on the outdoor & indoor ranges - no booking required
Saturday Evening - 7.30 to 10.00pm on the indoor range - no booking required.

For those of you who've been in the club in the last couple of weeks, you will see we've brought the reloading table inside.
We have also supplied it with some reloading equipment - single stage press, powder measure, powder scales, tumbler for cleaning, selection of reloading manuals and some 308Win & 223Rem dies for starter. If you want some different dies you will have to purchase your own along with any trim dies!
This is there for beginners who would like to learn how to reload their own ammo.
Doug has told me that there are a few people interested in doing this, so if I can have some names and phone numbers I will arrange for either an evening, Saturday or Sunday daytime to do this for you.
If you are currently shooting factory ammo kept the cases for reloading, then all you need to buy is some primers, powder and the heads
If you have bought or about to buy your own reloading presses from Doug and want help in setting them up - we can do that too for you.
If you have any questions please reply to this email

I also want to run last year's Poppy Day Shoot (which was cancelled) on the Saturday 19th of June starting at 10.00am.
This is using WW1 & WW2 rifles - 303 Lee Enfield, Ma**ers etc with or without scopes (Sniper models) it is not a serious shoot but more of a good will shoot and raising money for the Poppy Day Appeal. There will be no winners or losers but we have a trophy for the best overall shooter on the day.
If you can let me know if you are coming I will put your name down on the list which I hope to put up in the club by this weekend.

We are hoping that if we get back to some normality in life we will be running some more competitions for you to take part in.
The 100 meter outdoor competition is up and going and it would be nice to see a few more people taking part in it!

Well that's it for now and I hope you all back at the club soon.
