Thanks to all the lads who took part today against Buxton Over 55's. A great team effort to beat Buxton 8-0. Thanks to Paul Farrell who took the gloves after my boo boo with the keeper not knowing KO time🧐. Goals from Phil Creasey (4), Dave Scotney (2) Carl Mumby and Simon Whitehead gave us a fantastic win. We played some great football at times, and defensively with Andy Parker and Carl Mumby in tandem Buxton were limited to half chances.
Will Kerr, Peter Price completing a stern back 4.
Some very unselfish forward play giving Phil Creasey the opportunities to net 4. He was given MOM for netting , but his overall game was very good. Dave Scotney back to his best after his hip replacement surgery could have easily had 4 himself, but he was denied by a couple of great saves. Carl Mumby scored a screamer from 25 yards to cap off a great performance too.
We will probably face a stronger Buxton side later in the year when we play the return, but for today congratulate yourselves for a great performance.

This Saturday sees Skegness Over 60's Vets take on England at The Pavilion 1pm KO. Free entry, everyone welcome, teas and coffee on sale from our resident tea ladies. Why not come down and give the lads some support.

A very close game between 2 evenly matched teams. Doncaster took a very early lead with a well taken goal by Ray Wagstaff, but Skegness rallied and got back into the game with 2 goals before the break from Pete Davies and Eric Robinson. The second half was tight with both sides having chances, but Skegness held out after a late onslaught from Doncaster should have resulted in an equaliser, but defensive efforts and goal keeper saves saw Skegness over the line 2-1.
Thanks to Doncaster for travelling over to the coast, and to Finnegan for a fantastic buffet back at Churchills.

Skegness Over 65's play Doncaster at The Pavilion this afternoon 2pm KO. We are all off to Churchills after for a few drinks, feel free to come along. Match report later this evening.

My heart was in 2 camps today as Skegness 50's took on ROIVF 50's at The Pavilion. Ireland running out 5-0 winners. To be fair to Skegness they were well under par as far as first teamers were concerned. But Ireland played very well all across the park. A tough day at the office for Skegness but they never gave up till the final whistle. Well done to both teams and hopefully we can do it all again later in the year at a different venue.

Well today sees our Over 50's take on a Republic of Ireland team at the Pavilion Skegness 3pm KO. Match report to follow tonight, good luck to all concerned, hope you all enjoy the game, and after match in Churchills in town. All welcome.

Well today Skegness Vets WF Over 50's traveled to Northamptonshire to take part in the Corby Tournament.
We were hampered with 2 late drop outs and only landed with the bare six players, no goalkeeper. But the lads got their heads together and came up with a plan, Tom Huck took the gloves and we never looked back after that.
Without any subs the games came thick and fast, 9 in total getting us to the final narrowly losing to a strong Solihull Moors side 2-1.
Everyone did their bit but special mentions for Rob Bedford 8 goals out of the 13 we scored, and Man of the Match going to Tom Huck, who made some great saves across the day.
A big thanks to Corby for organising a very well run tournament and to the referees on the day.
