Competing onstage isn’t a dieting contest, it’s a bodybuilding competition.
A lot of people think progress is only made when you’re in a calorie deficit and leaning out… but the truth is, your off-season is where the real growth happens.
🔴 The goal isn’t to stay shredded year-round. It’s to strategically increase calories, fuel your training, and actually build new muscle tissue. The higher your calories are going into a diet, the better your metabolism will respond when you start cutting.
🔴 By gradually increasing food and focusing on strength, you set yourself up for a more sustainable prep—where fat loss feels smoother, performance stays high, and you actually get to keep the muscle you’ve worked for.
Don’t be afraid to eat, grow, and push heavy in the off-season. Remember:
• Higher calories = better recovery
• Better recovery = harder training
• Harder training = more tissue gained
And when it’s time to diet? You’ll be leaner, stronger, and have way more calories to work with.
Build now. Refine later. 🔑
