Another weekender.
This time Northampton for Henry and Hednesford for Mason.

Saturday 18th May

Bit of shale shifting…….well attempting to race around a ploughed field!

Heat 1 - 6th
Heat 2 - 7th
Heat 3 - 6th

Consistent driving all day which ended up in consistent results. Proud as punch!
Well done to all drivers on a tricky, bumpy track.

Sunday 19th May

Hednesford……….massive tarmac track.

Heat 1 - 9th
Heat 2 - 5th
Heat 3 - 11th

This is the last time Mason will race here in the Micro and he didn’t disappoint. A huge field of 24 cars.
The red ribbons starting 1/2 a lap down and honestly if you saw the size of the track you would wonder how they got places at all!
Very proud of you after having a rough couple of weeks being poorly with a chest infection.

Henry raced at a double header at Bradford 4th and 5th May.
We were only there Saturday and then left him with Team Haywood to race on the Sunday as Mason is in his last few meetings in the Micro before changing formulas.
Drove brilliantly the Saturday night.
Fast, clean racing from everyone.

Double header at Skegness for Mason. 5th and 6th May.
He’s been really poorly running up to this with a chest infection but he didn’t let us down.
A huge field of Micros with 30 cars, saw him race 3 out of the 4 races each day.

Henry’s car on display today outside the Hildreds Centre.

On display today outside the Hildreds Shopping centre in Skegness are some of the cars racing tonight at 7pm.
Tonight we also have BIG THUNDER MONSTER TRUCK, its going to be a great night!
Its all now pay on the day. At the turnstiles plus tickets are also available from the girls with the cars at Hildreds or from our onsite ticket office till 3pm just down from the Skeg Vegas sign.
We have a large capacity we won’t sell out.
Please try and arrive before 6.30pm (gates open 6pm) Turnstiles are very busy in the last half an hour.

🏁🏁Mason - Crimond - 19th & 20th August🏁🏁

Little road trip up north.
Left Friday afternoon heading for Team Middler’s in Carnoustie. Got there in the middle of the night……well about 12.45…..so a quick hello and use their facilities and put our heads down, although Mason had been in his bed in Hotel de Crafter since 10pm.

Saturday up at 8.30 for breakfast and a quick nosy around the area. Then an 1 3/4hr drive to a sunny Crimond.

Mason drove so well considering it’s only his second time at this track.
First heat was the Highland Cup and Mason got drawn 13th out of 16 on the grid.
Finished a very respectable 5th.
Second heat - DNF spun out on last lap.
Third heat - 8th

Sunday was sunny again and day two saw the Gemmell Shield for the first heat. Reverse field of yesterday so 3rd on the grid.
Gemmell Shield - 5th
Second Heat - 6th
Third Heat - 8th

Just shy of 1000 miles in four days, but we had a great time.

🏁🏁Mason - Skegness - 3rd August 2023🏁🏁

After 9 weeks of not racing, Mason was back racing last night at our local track, but from the back as he had gone up a grade just before he broke his thumb.
Heat 1 - 10th
Drove brilliantly with a busy track of 19 cars. Was upset he only got 10th, but after so long off it must have been overwhelming for him and from a new position on the track.
Heat 2 - 7th
Picked up pace and pulled off some fantastic track craft.
Heat 3 - 6th (we think!)
Again driving really well and had some lucky misses with a few accidents.
At only 10 years old you cannot ask anymore than that!

Next meeting will be Buxton 13th August. 🏁🏁🏁

Back on track tomorrow night at Skegness Stadium at 7pm………after an incredible long six weeks off with a broken thumb.
Also Mason’s car is on show at the Hildreds Centre in Skegness tomorrow from around 9.30 until 3.
Pop and have a look at his car and book yourself some tickets to watch whilst you are there!

This last weekend saw the English Presentation at Rotherham.
A great night was had by all!
There were awards, dancing, food, a few lemonades and some car racing! 🕺🏼🍕🍻🏁
Mason got presented with the Captain Confidence award from two ex Micro drivers. 😃

Now just a few more weekends before the racing season starts again. And this will be Mason’s last full year racing in the Micro’s. 🥺

So at the weekend we travelled up to Scotland for the Scottish Brisca Micro F2 Awards night!

Wow…….what a night we had with Team Lilley and Team Caley.
Taxis picked us up and took us to the venue.
Katie and Iain put on a fabulous do. Every child got a bag of goodies, T-shirt and a glass photo of themselves.
Mason also got a recognition award. Which he was very pleased with.
Those Scots know how to party hard! Lol!

Anyway we are back home and back to normal today but all feeling very jaded.

Racewear!

This is an area we have never touched before…..we always wear someone else’s team wear. But with both boys racing we took the plunge!

Thank you to Calum & Ashleigh at WOWGraphiX Ltd for sorting it for us and not getting cross at the “can you just change this” messages!

Skegness 13th November 2022.

Grim day at Skegness Raceway which in turn made challenging race conditions.
1st Heat DNF
2nd Heat DNF spun out.
Final Finished
Race 4 10th
Very slippery on seaside turn saw lots of cars spinning out.
And that’s a wrap for the 2022 season. 🏁🏁🏁
