Finally a good weekend at 'Official' Bayford Meadows Kart Circuit! I honestly wasn’t expecting much after quite an average practice day on Saturday, but I managed to get a 3rd for quali on Sunday. During the heat I managed to stay out of trouble and got 2nd. Unfortunately after that we had grip problems and the pre-final landed me a 5th, and an 8th for the final. Overall it was a very productive weekend and it’s one step closer to the Senior Rotax class next season! 📸: Paul Babington Photography.

Quite a disappointing weekend 'Official' Bayford Meadows Kart Circuit Had a bad crash on the first corner of qualifying that bent the two front bars, bent the chassis and ruined my front bumper. However, I still carried on and managed to set a time for quali, even came 15th out of 21! 😂 Unfortunately we could only fix the front two bars and nose cone before the first race, where I made my way up to 12th. Managed to get the chassis straightened thanks to SAIT Motorsport but suffered with power from a leaking carburettor that almost fell off. After that, (we didn’t know about the carburettor yet) there was a crash with a rookie that took me and Callum Romaine - Racing down to last, and I couldn’t continue. Starting the final in 21st once everything was fixed, the first lap set me back about half a lap because the same inexperienced driver span in front of me. However, I managed to make my way back to the pack and worked my way to 12th! I’ve never been so proud of a 12th place 😂 Thanks to the team and Em for support. 📸: Paul Babington Photography. Well, here we are again.
Round four of the championship.
Aaron hoping to get round without having his final ruined by incident or accident, and Lewis holding a slender 3rd place hoping for a good points haul.
13 Subaru's on the grid, a full compliment of 24 in the senior rotax. It's warm, it's dry (for now) and it's going to be fast 🤪😬

Three years ago, I bought a little old kart for Aaron to have a bit of fun with and a hobby for me to tinker with. It was not in our thoughts that he would be a competitive racer. This weekend, Aaron exceeded all expectations from the moment he hit the track. After two laps of scrubbing his new slicks, he set the fastest time and kept getting quicker. He held onto it until the final lap of qualifying. He missed out on pole by .13 of a second as two others set quicker times. But still, 3rd on the grid!
The first race came and so did a rain shower, making the start a little slippery on cold tyres, he dropped back to fifth but soon caught back up to the leading group. Finishing fifth, his best ever result!
For the pre final, Aaron had a good start and settled in quickly. He made a great pass to move up to fourth and got himself in position to set about the leaders but run out of laps. Fourth place, another best result including setting the fastest lap!
The final saw Aaron starting in fourth, he was clearly one of the quickest on track. Unfortunately he failed to finish due to being taken out by an inexperienced driver. Oh well, that’s motor racing for you!

Focusing on the positive he drove exceptionally, setting the pace and making excellent passing manoeuvres. Team LA are so proud, good lad!

This weekend saw Aaron run-in his new Alonso Kart with entry to round 2 of the Bayford Meadows winter cup. With Aaron still getting settled in, he finished an excellent 8th place.
