Why filming your running technique is important ?
Mainly, to know what needs to be adjusted in order to improve.
What are we measuring here and why? How high the knee is? What does that angle tell us?

looking at the footage, a technique specialist could easily identify the full extension of the knee, the overzealous analysis of arms and even more.

That’s what we work in the first few sessions

Battle vs lifestyle
A battle means we will have to expend lots of efforts and energy to win. A lifestyle means relaxing and living to expectations with-our effort.
Chimp paradox says
Try not to see battles in all we do but see lifestyle instead.
For example, trying to diet and eat smaller portions is harder if you see is a battle to cut down rather than seeing smaller portions as normal
Happiness can be as simple as a cup of coffee.
Avoiding things that cause us to have unwanted feelings as a sensible way to stay happy. Hard to avoid them sometimes, but with good preparation there’s a chance to deal with reality.

First session went brilliant. Good session for advanced cyclist new into Duathlon! Well done Patrick Rowbottom on your hard work!

Want to increase your speed and fitness in running or cycling but strapped for time? Here's a sub-1hr workout that will help…

For this session we did you will need a bike and helmet ( you can hire at Brownlee Centre , running shoes (cycling if using clear) water bottle, and a watch ( not necessary)

To get the most out of this session, you need to be relatively fresh, so don’t attempt it after a long run or hard bike.

Try to schedule it on a day when you won’t be doing any other intense workouts. An easy swim, run or bike the same day should be fine 😁
Warm-up

10min steady ride on circuit, followed by 1 lap on big ring

Main session

2x 5 mins threshold sets ( threshold training means improving the intensity you can hold for about one hour of time trialling on a bike). After completing first 5 mins, riding into transition, dismount, swap shoes ( if using cleats), helmet off and hard 300 m run and repeat
Give yourself rest between sets

Cool-down

15min easy ride, small ring, easy spin

Main benefits

Performance benefits

This session is ideal for getting your body familiar with working around threshold and above.

If done consistently, you will notice that the benefits translate to your aerobic and anaerobic fitness with improved ability to rude for extended periods at race pace.
