We’re welcoming complete beginners – kids, teens and adults to come and give kickboxing a go at PKA Sileby.

Hi Everyone, I’m Coach Lee and I’m Head Coach at Sileby.

I’ve been doing Martial Arts for 18 years and have had previous experience in Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing! I started with Kickbox UK in 2018 and have worked my way to 2nd Degree Black Belt.

An Interesting fact about me would be that i’m trained on how to use Nunchucks and a Samurai Sword!

I’ll always strive to help anyone out with their Kickboxing Journey and encourage you to aim higher than you first expected!

☀️ Top Tips for Heatwave Training ☀️

With the rising temperatures this week, heres some top tips to make sure you stay safe and enjoy your classes!

1. Stay Hydrated 💧
Don’t forget to bring your water bottle (or a few!) to your classes! Regular hydration breaks will happen to help you keep up your hydration!

2. Train Lightly 🥊
Although we all love a tornado kick, classes this week will focus on Technique and Grading Sets more than high intensity combinations! Make sure you work hard, but work safely! If you need a break, take a breather!

3. Wear light clothing 🥋
Try to avoid heavy clothing that will make you overheat! Wearing a jumper in your classes may not be the best idea! Make sure you are comfortable, but as cool as you can be!

Finally, if you need any help during your class, make sure you talking to your Coach or Coaching team for assistance, they will do what they can to help you!

☀️ Heatwave Training Update ☀️

With another hot week on the way, we’ll be adapting classes slightly to make sure everyone can train safely.

Sessions will include plenty of hydration breaks, and we’ll be focusing more on technique drills, grading prep, movement and control, rather than speed, power or high-intensity work.

Please make sure you bring a drink with you, take breaks whenever you need them, and if you feel unwell, lightheaded or too hot at any point, stop training and rest straight away.

We’ll still have a great session — just a sensible one.
