All of the movements and exercises that I program for people with lower back, hip and knee pain are exercises that I have helped many people with over the years πŸ’ͺ but most importantly they are the movements that helped me towards a pain free life myself πŸ’ƒ

Spent a bit of time yesterday reminding myself of what I used to do when I trained CrossFit πŸ€ͺ🀸

I've spent a long time truly getting to the cause of the issue with my lower back and knee pain, and I feel like now is a good time to see what my body is capable of 🀷

As for being that lean, I think I might just enjoy treats too much these days 🀣

Today I hit a goal that I set myself almost six months ago 🀸

This exercise is called a Reverse Nordic Curl, and when I learnt about it a few years back I saw it as an exercise that looked awesome, but that I would never be able to do myself because of my back and knee pain 🀷

Anyone who has ever suffered with sciatica and/or any form of knee pain will wince when they think about doing this πŸ€ͺ trust me, I used to as well! But patience and hard work can go a long way πŸ™

This isn't so much an informative post like normal, but I just wanted to big myself up a bit because I feel badass for hitting my goal πŸ’ƒ

IDEAS FOR YOUR NEXT LEG DAY πŸ’ͺ

Training legs can be a worry if you suffer with knee pain, you train all of the conventional movements but you never get through the workout without being in pain πŸ€•

There's a big difference between being in pain and being uncomfortable, uncomfortable is acceptable, pain is not! πŸ˜…

Try adding these into your next workout and start fixing your knee pain! πŸ’ƒ

So many of us take on lasting pain at some point in our lives, and no matter how old you are, you kind of just admit that "this is how life feels now" πŸ™„

But you don't have to do that πŸ‘€ you don't have to settle for a life that includes shooting pain in your lower back, dull pain down the side of your leg, or sharp pains in your knees... 🀷 All of these can be seriously depressing and can negatively effect your life in more ways than just physical πŸ€•

You don't have to give up and deal with it, I used to be in that position, but I found a way out πŸ€ͺ

I want to help other people do the same πŸ’ƒ so whether it's for yourself or for someone that you care about, I would love to be the one to help you on your journey towards a pain free life πŸ’ͺ

TAKE CARE OF YOUR KNEES!

It seems that as the world becomes more efficient, we have become obsessed with making massive changes in our lives 🀷

When setting yourself a goal or trying to change your habits, it can be easy to go "all in" and make radical change to your routine, but this often results in a huge shock to our system πŸ€ͺ

Next time you think of a goal that you want to set for yourself, don't think about the entire journey, just think about what that first small step looks like and do that πŸ’ͺ

Eventually, you will have made hundreds or thousands of small steps, and that will lead to massive change in a much more sustainable way 🌞

FROG SQUATS 🐸

An amazing exercise that I put into every single one of my warm ups to open up my hips and my lower back πŸ’ͺ

If you get these right, you'll feel a stretch down the inside of your legs at the bottom of the movement, and in your lower back and hamstrings at the top πŸ”₯

Try these for 30 seconds, have 30 seconds rest to shake out, and then do another 30 seconds

Take it slowly (I'll do around 4-5 reps in 30 seconds when I'm warming up) and get rid of all of that tension you're holding onto! πŸ€ͺ

USE IT OR LOSE IT! πŸ€•

If you stop using your knees because of pain then your body will stop providing them with the nutrients they need, mainly in the form of synovial fluid 🀷

This stuff lubricates your joints like oil does to a machine, and in order to keep every thing running smoothly without resistance, machines need oil! πŸ˜…

If you can teach your body to reach this kind of range through ANY joint, then it will provide you with the oil to do so, don't shy away from movement, movement is medicine πŸ’ƒ
