Lovely evening for club night on Wednesday. Really well attended too. Summer maybe over, but tennis doesn't have to stop. Every Wednesday from 6pm for any club members.

Latest match report from Mens A team by Stephen Upsher 👏🎾
Another great result for the men’s A team with a 6-3 home win over Willand to lift Tipton into fourth place with one match to go. Glynn and Steve got the first points of the night with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Willand’s second pairing, whilst Jayan and Nathan went down to Willand’s firsts. The youngsters then hit back in the second match with the loss of only one game. Glynn and Steve then dug deep to overcome a 2-6 first set deficit to bounce back and square their match (6-4) before winning the match tiebreak 10-5. A great effort and a solid second half of the season with the final match next week. 👍🎾

That's a wrap. Ladies Summer League tennis. It's been great fun and we are safe in division 4, our final position yet to be decided on other results. Brilliant team work all round. 😍🎾🥂

MENs1s REPORT: By Steve Upsher.
A pleasing 5-5 draw at home to Lympstone last night with some long and hard fought battles. The first matches were so long we had to put the floodlights on to finish them. Well done to Pete and Jayan for getting four of the five points. Steve and Glynn were unlucky not to get anything from their first match, losing a first set tiebreaker but did well to level their second match only to go down 11-9 in a match tiebreak after having a match-point! Well played chaps. TSJ have moved up to fifth and currently have a 12 point cushion and game in hand on those in the relegation zone.

The ladies team managed to avoid watching the football on Wednesday with a match away at Budleigh Salterton. It was an opportunity to play on the grass courts, and although rather brown and bald and just a few bad bounces came away with a 5-4 loss before the light faded. Hattie and Flo battled hard against their 2nd pair with 3 tie breaks and deservedly winning the last 2 sets. Kate and Rachael got the other 2 points, which keeps us in a preferable 3rd spot in the league.

MEN'S A TEAM MATCH REPORT: It was slim pickings for the Tipton Men’s A team on Monday night as they went down 8-2 at home to David Lloyd C on a hot summer’s night. However the home side will count themselves unlucky not to have come away with more points, losing two Championship tiebreaks - the last by 10 points to 8 in a marathon match involving Dale and Steve, who had battled back from a set down to level their second rubber. Nathan and Jayan got the other point. Well done guys 👏🎾

Tipton Ladies continued their winning streak with a 6-3 victory away at David Lloyd. On a hot summers evening, Kate and Anne lead the way with straight set wins, and Rachael and Jackie secured 2 points, winning a championship tie-break. Compliments all round from the opposition, remarking how good our team shirts looked, maybe that gave us the edge, or was it the half time watermelon? 😊
