I took 9 days off work. I didn't train during that time. What I did do:
3 days at my parents house in Notts for my dad's 85th birthday π Enjoyed every bit of my mums amazing cooking β€οΈ
3 days in Cornwall exploring the Lizard peninsula with the dogs at a dog-friendly hotel and taking in the southwest coast path. Climbing treacherous cliff faces with Oatie the puppy in one hand. πΆ Walking thousands of steps daily to take in amazing views. I watched seals bobbing in the water while Mark explained to the dogs what they were. π€£
3 days at home with local walks including a viaduct that I didn't even know was here (I love a viaduct!)
I ate cooked breakfasts, pasties, ice creams. I baked cakes and pickled my home grown radishes.
I took time on Sunday afternoon for myself and plonked myself in front of the TV for a bit of nostalgic viewing in homage to the late great Tim Curry (I grew up in the 80s watching RHPS several times a month π«¦). I brunched with friends.
I didn't check emails or open client WhatsApp msgs (sorry guys, but you know the drill). And I didn't talk about work once in the entire time. I gave zero fxxks about optimizing my life and questioning whether what I was doing, was right. I just lived doing all the things I love. And it was glorious.
I'm back. Full of rest and zest. Raring to go.
New client take-ons in full swing. ππ½πͺπ½
