Pleased to announce we are forming our first ever ladies team this year.

So today was the last game of the season and win would secure us 2nd place in division one.
In a covid world the boys have had so much taken away from them in the last 15 months, two cup finals from last season. The potential for more cup finals this season taken away.
And with players leaving throughput this season and injuries, the boys never gave up at any point.

So for me to see the boys pickup some silverware for their efforts this season, is very pleasing.
Just a few stats from this season we were the leading scorers in the league with 98 goals in 12 league and 3 cup matches.Danny league leading scorer 35 goals .
Four players inside top ten goal scoring table, Danny, Big Dave, Koby, Hayden and Riley.
A goal difference of +49 in 12 league games.

Now the thank yous firstly the players for never giving up, the parents without you the boys wouldn’t be able to get to training and matches. To Deano running the line thanks mate. The support at home matches from other club coaches Garry Heather, Sam White Darren Drury and Jeff our cup of tea man.
Thanks to Paul Woodham for all you’ve done with George and the help you’ve given me mate.

So back to today’s game we did win and secure 2nd place an 11/3 victory with some great individual goals to some great team goals, was a great ending to a very stop start season. Goal scorers today Danny 3 Koby 2 Alex 1 Codi 1 Hayden 1 Riley 1 Spike 1 Zak 1.

Another early away kickoff today at the discovery centre, on a lovely sunny morning.
It was Hawks v Hawks with our boys sitting 2nd and Great Notley 3rd, so we was expecting a tough battle against a team who’d only lost 3/1 at league leaders Tiptree last weekend.
Right from the off the boys were on the front foot pressurising the opposition and winning the 50 50 battles all over the pitch and went into half time 3/0 up.
Team talk was easy just continue what your doing in the second half and the boys certainly did that, running out worthy 6/1 winners.
This was an outstanding team performance from all the 14 boys and they should be super proud of themselves.
Opened up a nice 5 point gap over Great Notley, no game next weekend.
But week after we’re at home against Galleywood Eagles.

A few nice stats for the season so far

So after 4 months off from football, today was the day we all got some normality back.
An early 10am kickoff in Writtle, the sun was out and chilly wind, perfect for some football.
With some new faces in the team and not knowing how we’d go today after such a long break. It couldn’t of started any better a goal within 90 seconds was the perfect start.
Writtle then woke up and soon equalised, just reminding us we need to step up a gear, the boys certainly did that.
And from then on there was only won winner, a couple of adjustments at half time and it was one way traffic, with some great football on show from the Hawks.
Great first game back and lots of positives to take from today as we move onto Great Notley Hawks away next Sunday a win there would take us 5 pts clear in second place, so a huge game for the boys.
