Footlights Dance school offers dance classes for children aged 3 upwards following the IDTA Syllabus

Classes are held weekly in term time and we offer IDTA dance examinations and performance opportunities throughout the year. Classes are held at:

Mereside Community Centre
Shrewsbury United Reformed Church

💜 Footlights Dance School 💜

This photo is from a recent night out in Shrewsbury. This group of people became friends over many years because their daughters danced with Footlights. 10+ years of car sharing, uniform swapping, costume sewing, driving to performances, helping backstage, chatting outside dance classes and forming a massive friendship bond - that is continuing even though their children are no longer Footlighters 🥹 Notice the dance dads in the photo too that all socialise together too!

Footlights Dance School is so much more than a dance school - it is a family that offers friendship and support and many, many memories and laughs.

If you are thinking of starting your child at dance classes - know that you will gain a whole new loads of friends too when you join the Purple People 💜

First week of the new term complete and what a busy week it was!

Lovely to welcome back the Footlights Family as well as saying hello to lots of lovely new faces 💜

We had an absolute blast at the on Saturday!

We are geting ready to leap back into action tomorrow!

All our dance classes start back and we have a busy and fun term planned:

💜 CYD Rehearsals start for our performance on 17th October
💜 IDTA Midlands Classical Ballet Championships on 11th October
💜 Annual Awards Presention & Party on 10th October
💜 Ballet exam classes start ready for our exam session in January
💜 Adult Tap Dancing rehearsals for SMTC Miscast Cabaret on 21st November
💜 Lots of new faces to welcome and of course...

💜 MEET THE TEAM - ADMIN EMMA💜

Admin Emma is responsible for all things admin at Footlights and works closely with Michelle to ensure the day to day running of the dance school is as smooth as possible and that parents are kept up to date with everything.

Passionate about being meticulous with admin processes and dance; Emma processes all our new enrolments into the dance school and nudges all our parents to complete forms on time as well as reminding them to be quiet on exam day (Ssshhh!!)!

Emma is a Professional Virtual Assitant running her business EmblemVA that supports upwards of 20 dance schools as well as Footlights.

Emma loves a good boogie herself and studied ballet until the age of 24 and performed on stage numerous time - her nickname in the little village she lived in back in South Wales was "Dancing Emma" and she lived on Dancing Hill! 😅
