A huge well done and congratulations to all our runners who have completed our beginners 5K programme.

From starting on a chilly Sunday in January, to running a full 5K on a (slightly less chilly) March morning - every single one of you did amazing!

We would like to thank our fabulous coaches for supporting everyone over the last twelve weeks.

If you want to take the next step, our beginners 10k course starts this evening at 6.50 - come join us at the blue gates at the top of the Quarry

🏃 Beginners 10k Course – Starting Monday 30th March 🏃

🏃 Looking to take your running to the next level this spring?

🏃 Our popular beginners 10k programme is back – starting on Monday 30th March and running for 19 weeks, finishing on Monday 3rd August. We'll meet at The Blue Gates in The Quarry at 6.50pm for a 7.00pm start.

🏃 The course is open to everyone and is suitable for everyone. If you're currently taking part in our Beginners to 5k course, you'll be very welcome to join us, and the programme will be adapted to take into account your current running ability.

🏃 Each session is led by one of our qualified run leaders, with friendly club members on hand to support you every step of the way.

We have checked the conditions at the Quarry this afternoon and tomorrow's first beginners 5k session is ON!

We look forward to seeing you all at 9.45am tomorrow morning at the doctor's monument (close to St. Julian’s Friar car park).

💙 A Tribute to Nick ♥️

It’s with the deepest sadness that we remember our dear friend and fellow Shuffler, Nick Deane. Nick was the heart of our club — always welcoming, encouraging, and giving his time selflessly to help others.

For many of us, Nick was the first friendly face we saw. He was the welcoming handshake at parkrun , the encouraging word on a cold morning with the Shufflers. He had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued, always taking time to chat, to listen, and to make us feel we belonged.

Even after his MND diagnosis, Nick’s courage and positivity never wavered. He continued to be an important part of our club, also raising tens of thousands of pounds for MND Association. He inspired us all with his determination and kindness.

We’ll never forget moments like on an icy December day in 2023, when Nick completed his “Run 25 Miles in December” challenge surrounded by friends and laughter — a true reflection of his spirit.

We will miss Nick dearly here at the Shufflers. But we will carry his spirit with us every time we lace up our shoes, welcome a new face, or push through our own challenges.

🏃‍♀️ Let’s Lift the Curfew! 🌙

We’re inviting all runners to join us for a friendly, supportive club run on Wednesday 29th October as part of Sport England's 'Lets Lift The Curfew' campaign.

This initiative helps women who may feel uncomfortable running alone in the dark to keep active and confident through the winter -by running with a group or club.

📍 Meet: Preston Street entrance of the Shirehall, Shrewsbury
🕕 Time: 6.50pm
