Grief and loss!!
I had to think for a while before I wrote anything.
In an attempt to carry on and kick we went to arena uk pony prem with Pickle and Candy. This was new for Pickle as he and Rocky went everywhere together with no more than a day apart since 4yr old.
2 weeks ago we lost Rocky, Grange Rock Sparrow.
He was Barneys bestest friend ever, my hero, and Pickles (The Earl if Penure)brother!.
On Saturday Pickle jumped in arena 2. He didnt stop calling. He was tense, upset, and distracted. He jumped terribly.
Barney took some of Rockys ashes and sprinkled them in the main arena on sat night, an emotional one!. This is where he stepped up to the next level every time with Rox first newcomer first fox etc etc
On the Sunday he jumped the newcomer second in that ring on Pickle who again was calling on his way to the ring and generally stressed. He went in came to the fence we had stood left of to spread ashes. And stopped dead!. He them came round other way from right and jumped it.
At home Pickle is grieving hard. Something I never thought about when we lost Rocky. He calls for him when all horses are in, He stops everytime he walks past his stable and doesn't want to move.
Yesterday we spread some of Rockys ashs under a tree in the field outside Pickle Stable. Pickle starred and starred with his head hung low.
Last night I tied a bit of Rockys tail (really smelt of Rocky) to the door of Pickles stable and he stood next to bang still just gently touching and breathing with it.
He looks like a pony that doesn't give a f... about life at the moment.
I thought I was being ridiculous or going dappy but then yesterday I heard a story about Ian Stark and loosing the first one if his 2 grey boys.
We as a species of human kind are so ignorant to other species. The emotions and feelings they may or may not experience and their own communications. I certainly was when I lost Rocky at the vets without Pickle present.
BROTHERS IN ARMS!.
