Our amazing U11’s Girls team travelled to Falmer to play St Peter’s yesterday. Against a strong bowling attack we nearly got there but fell just a few runs short.

The game was played in a great and noisy spirit, with some ambitious running between the wickets. It was great to watch, well done girls. Back on the park for training on Friday.

WHAT A PERFORMANCE!

A phenomenal team performance from the 1st XI this evening against the Brighton Warriors.

After losing two quick wickets, Shoreham had some serious work to do. Up stepped Anthony, who played a absolutely flawless 50 not out, amply assisted by skipper Brett who smashed a brilliant 47 not out! Together, they helped the side amass a fantastic total of 147-5.

Then it was time to defend, and the Swingers got off to an incredible start in the field.

Some excellent bowling and sharp fielding saw the wickets tumble. Brilliant spells from Huey, Brett, Jav, Jezz, and Seb kept the pressure piled on, with some great catches taking out vital opposition batsmen.

Jav and Seb bowled a masterful spell to reduce the visitors to 70 runs, before Seb wrapped things up in style—taking an amazing caught-and-bowled followed by a clean-bowled wicket to seal a magnificent victory!

What a win, lads! Onwards and upwards.

A tough battle for the 2nd XI tonight.

Sadly, the boys had to settle for second place this evening against a strong Worthing Warriors side.

There was plenty to be proud of out in the field. Some excellent, disciplined bowling from Shoreham kept the total well within reach for a long stretch. However, a few costly dropped catches gave the Warriors a lifeline, allowing them to capitalise and amass a very competitive score.

When it came to the chase, the Warriors brought a very tidy bowling attack to the crease. Our openers fought hard but struggled to get the required run rate going against some tight bowling lines.

The highlight of the innings undoubtedly belonged to Javed, who played a brilliant, anchoring knock to finish on 50 not out. Harry also had a great innings and showed his class and pace between the wickets.

We dust ourselves down, learn from the drops, and come back stronger next week. Onwards and upwards.

Sunday Cricket Classic at Rottingdean

What a brilliant afternoon of traditional Sunday cricket away at Rottingdean.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat, showing some serious class to amass a strong total of 231-8.

Our chase got off to a rocky start losing two early wickets, but the innings was beautifully shored up by a magnificent 50 from Tony Miller, who was ably supported by James Nolan.
The rest of the side chipped away at the total, and Mosh stood strong at the end to grind out a hard-earned draw!

A fantastic game of cricket for everyone involved. Up the teams.

WHAT A THRILLER!

What a brilliant morning of cricket for the Seabirds!

The Southwick Sheilas batted first and set a formidable total of 250.
It took some seriously excellent bowling and sharp fielding from the Seabirds to restrict them and keep the target at an achievable level.

The chase went right down to the wire! Southwick’s bowlers put on massive pressure, bowling a beautiful line and length. But standard-bearers Becki and Leanne stayed incredibly calm and composed in the final overs, steering the team home to a magnificent victory!

Huge well done to both teams for a fabulous, hard-fought game of cricket. This is what the sport is all about.

What a phenomenal day of Sunday cricket at Bolney Cricket Club.

What a fantastic afternoon of traditional Sunday cricket, played in the absolute perfect spirit. It was a nail-biter right down to the final delivery!

The Highlights:
- The Toss: Shoreham won the toss and elected to field.
Bolney’s Batting: A powerhouse start from the Bolney openers—one reaching a 50 and the other smashing a 100.

- The Breakthrough: Tom Lightfoot turned the tide, coming on to take 3 crucial wickets.

- The Target: Bolney ended with a late flourish, setting a formidable total of 258.

The Chase:
- It was a shaky start for us, losing 3 wickets for just 23 runs in the first 10 overs. However, the middle order showed some serious heart:
Tom Lightfoot provided the spark with a lightning-fast 50.
Cooper (70) and James Nolan (44) anchored the innings with a calm and clinical partnership.
Mosh and Jezz kept the dream alive as the shadows lengthened.

The Finish:
- With 21 runs needed off the final over, it was a race against the clock. We finished the game with a hard-fought draw, just 8 runs short of the total with 2 wickets still in hand.

A phenomenal afternoon of cricket, this is what the game is all about. Huge thank you to Bolney for the hospitality.
