We have reached the end of another action-packed term here at 3rd Shoreham, so we wanted to take a moment to celebrate everything the young people have achieved and say a massive thank you to everyone who made it happen!
Our young people have taken part in an incredible variety of activities and built vital skills for life over the past few months. In fact, we have awarded a mind-blowing 1,400 badges in the last 12 months alone—a testament to how hard everyone has been working!
📣Term Highlights Across the Group📣
❤️Squirrels: Enjoyed birdwatching, visiting the lifeboat station, and even taking to the water for a yacht sail!
🩵Beavers: Mastered open-fire/outdoor cooking, tackled scavenger hunts, and had an action-packed adventure day at Lodge Hill.
💚Cubs: Joined forces with other packs for Adur Cub Jam 26— one of our best summer camps yet!
💙Scouts: Got stuck into water sports with paddling, kayaking, and canoeing, alongside plenty of hiking and land-based activities.
🏅A special shoutout goes to all of our young people who earned the highest achievement in their section: the Chief Scout’s Award.
🤩Extra congratulations to Frankie, who earned his Gold Award with several more on track to join him soon!
🏡HQ Improvements & Save the Date
We’ve also been busy behind the scenes upgrading our facilities. Our new showers and changing rooms are almost ready to go! Keep an eye out for an invitation to our AGM on September 13th, where we will be officially unveiling them.
👀Looking Ahead to 2027
We’re already looking well into the future! Dates and bookings are locked in for our Winter Sleepovers and Summer Camps for 2027 across Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts. Our teams will also be busy behind the scenes over the break planning another awesome term for when we return.
🙏A Heartfelt Thank You & How You Can Help
Scouting simply doesn't happen without a strong community. Thank you to all the parents for driving, supporting, and bringing your children along every week—and a huge thank you to our brilliant team of volunteers who make the magic happen.
We are always looking for extra hands to keep the group growing strong.
Whether you can:
-Help out occasionally on a section night
-Train to become a qualified water sports coach
-Help out behind the scenes with admin or facilities
-Join our Board of Trustees to help guide the group's future..we would absolutely love to hear from you!
Please get in touch if you're interested in giving a little time back.
Have a wonderful summer break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in September! 👋
