🏁 Important Update for the King of Clubs Series 2024 🏁

Hello Racers!

We have an important update to share as we gear up for the 2024 King of Clubs series season. After thoughtful consideration and reflecting on the past seasons, we've decided to return to our roots with the original four clubs: Adur, Aldershot, Eastbourne, and West London.

This decision does not reflect the brilliant Colchester club, which has always hosted well-organised and supported events at their fantastic track. However, as we continue to evolve, we've recognised the need to refocus on boosting regional interclub collaboration and team competition and intensifying our efforts to attract new racers in our region.

The geographic proximity of the original four clubs plays a crucial role in this strategy. It allows us to streamline our events and create a more cohesive series, separate from and not overlapping with the Nationals, essential to growing participation. This is a tough balancing act; putting on great events with a big event feel is vital to showcase our sport to newcomers and new audiences. High-quality modified racing, for example, leaves newcomers impressed and demonstrates the pathway from the Rookies Cup to the National and International championships. But going too far means being a National Mk2, with different requirements and a very different vibe.

We are immensely grateful to the Colchester club for their dedication and hosting events over the past seasons. Their involvement has been a significant part of our journey, and we look forward to continuing our relationship in other capacities, be it special events or returning a new in the future.

As we move forward, our commitment to growing the sport of on-road RC racing and creating vibrant club local racing experiences remains steadfast. We're excited about the renewed focus and the opportunities it brings to enhance the King of Clubs series.

Stay tuned for calendar announcement this week, some exciting tweaks to the championship and let's gear up for the 2024 season!

Attention Racers,

This year's Club AGM will be held on Sunday 19th November from 18:30 at The Empire Club, 20 Penhill Road, Lancing, BN15 8HJ.

The forthcoming Club AGM is the annual opportunity for the club membership to;

Submit proposals, for changes to the club rules or constitution.
Submit nominations, for club committee and assisting positions.

Members attending the AGM can also;

Hear the annual reports of the existing committee members.
Vote for or against any submitted proposals or nominations.
Elect the new club committee members for 2024.
Discuss any new ideas for continued improvement.

To submit a proposal or nomination;

Please email the details and reason for your proposal/nomination to [email protected] by October 18th 2023.
Submitted proposals and nominations will be available for club members to view from October 19th 2023.

Finally, the annual presentation of trophies to the club summer and winter class champions will also take place during the evening of the AGM.

It's now less than 3 weeks until lights out for Round 1 of our Summer Championship 🚥
The F1 Class Rules for 2023 will be posted to the files section later today, please be sure to familiarise yourselves 📖
Time to start prepping those cars for shakedown and testing in the coming weeks, weather permitting of course 🔧
Looking forward to seeing existing and new F1 racers for the forthcoming season, hoping to build the class further 🏁
And Yes, the only Foam on show will be in the fire extinguisher at race control lol 🧯
